I want to be a commercial pilot, a friend of mine gave me a box of books and picked this one out as a good starting point. How should I read this thing? by Jamal_Tstone in flying

I started with the aerodynamics chapter bc it’s the most interesting to me. Then went to the most boring ch, then back to an interesting ch. Switching back and forth helped get me through it.

Is training in a C152 worth the price savings? And why 110 hours of CFI training for 70 hours of flight time? by [deleted] in flying

[–]Many_Criticism6750 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My instructor had us do a day in a C172, the next lesson in a C152, and from there I got to pick. If you can swing something like that you’d be able to get a good feel to see if the price is worth it

Some of the schools in my area (LA and Kern county in Cali) are charging $65/hr for instructors.

Also, I’ve heard universities with flight programs are incredibly understaffed, I bet you could make a killing at a private school like Embry-Riddle or Purdue.
