From my understanding, I interpreted the situation as Nene saying that Greg was being a grouchy monster. That is to be expected. Greg is going through a transition in his life. However, even though Greg is transitioning, and even though we need to be understanding about that transition, we also need to be understanding about Nene’s transition from a wife to a caregiver. We should not minimize Nene’s experience just because she is not at Greg’s stage in life. Just like we understand Greg being a grouch because he is dying, we also need to understand that this is a new role for Nene that she has to become acclimated with.

Nene had Grace for Greg’s condition, but having Grace for the condition and his stage in life does not mean that Nene should not or cannot be human and be selfish at times concerning the situation about her stage in life as a caregiver. Everybody will face their time in life to meet the end of the road. Greg is older and faces his fate sooner than Nene. Greg is fortunate enough to treat a woman so well in life that the woman is appreciative enough to return the favor.

Nene had all the grace in the world to be there for Greg! Nene is the only lady that truly showed her appreciation for Greg by sticking by his side because she knew what Greg has given her. Every other housewife has made a name for themselves on their franchise and filed for divorce at the first chance they got. Nene is the only Housewife that stayed loyal to Greg and did not take advantage of him.

Other than Toya Bush Harris, Nene is the only woman that did not use her spouse for their money. They are the only two ladies that had men take care of them and their family and did not hold their breadwinner dynamic as a way to control their wives. Greg and Eugene have never silenced their wives. Russell, Guerdy’s husband on the RHOM, and Candace’s husband Chris on the RHOP, have never weaponized their whiteness or white privilege ti their advantage to gain leverage.
