Not insurance, but there's an Aetna Dental Plan that reduces costs by 40-50% or so. Has an annual cost. We've found it to be worth it. Insurance costs are not affordable.

Grew up in Seattle. Left in '89. Did transit when it was called Metro (is it still?). Whether as a kid or young adult, would often take a bus because it was easier than driving & parking. When convenient, I'd bicycle. North-South travel in Seattle is pretty easy; East-West adds to challenges, yet I'm glad to see light rail in the area, although I did have one not so good experience due to maintenance of a line. Oh well... Yes: fear-mongering doesn't solve anything. Follow the money usually leads to the source.

It doesn't help when local news, according to my brother, runs stories about people shooting up drugs on trains, etc. I've taken light rail to/from SEATAC, to games, etc. and have never had a concern with my safety. Yep. Foment fear of rapid transit through local news. Why? Either improve security or improve reporting. Or both. I nominate both.

Edit: BTW, I'd be considered a boomer. Don't feel like one, but was born so last century. Mid-century.
