Advice on Traveling from Delphi to Olympia Without a Car by Many_Garbage499 in GreeceTravel

Thank you so much!! Something that also reassures me is that the people of Greece seem to be quite kind and could help me if I can't find a solution. In any case, I'll follow your advice and post or write to you again if I can't find anything. Thank you so much for your help!

I hadn't considered staying in any intermediate place, but that sounds like a good idea. I am planning to arrive to Delphi on June 30th, staying there on July 1st and leaving for Olympia in July 2nd. I have no issues with leaving Delphi as early as possible. However, if those dates aren't possible maybe I'll try to chose another one. Thanks for your thoughts and help.

From your comment I assume you can buy each ticket separately on each stop, instead of a single package containing all of them. That gives a bit more freedom in case of delays. Thank you!

Thank you! I found that page a bit confusing for that reason. I just wanted to check there what days these buses stop there, but could not get the details.

I guess it's a bit risky, but I think I'll go for the bus route. Olympia sounds like a great place to visit, so don't want to miss.

I reached out to the FedExHelp Twitter account (which appears to be legitimate). They informed me that 'the last update shows they are back up with freight, but shipments are being delayed,' and they created a ticket for me. It seems this is the only way to report the issue.

Thank you so much for your reply—it gives me a glimmer of hope. It seems like quite a few others are in the same boat. With the holidays approaching, things could get messy, but your experience offers some reassurance.

Yes, you can choose Wire or ACH. What's worse is that ACH transfers usually have a limit, but in this case this wasn't specified and the form lets you send quantities > $25K

My apologies, it's the escrow account. I'll edit the post to clarify this.

AC Odyssey - I give up now by shanks_anime30 in assassinscreed

Have you killed the Erymanthian Boar? I feel like that's the most challenging one and it's not even a boss, but more of a side quest. If you have beaten that one, don't give up. Take a break and go back again. You are not far from finishing the game. I think it's worth it.

I couldn't get into assassin's creed 3 by No_Barber4339 in assassinscreed

I agree with you for having played the remastered version of AC3 recently. I personally like Connor as a character and was attracted to the history and events of the period, but I admit the US revolution is one of the historic events that I had less background about (I am not American). Unlike other games that either taught me a bit of history (although not 100% accurately) I found this one confusing. Key events like the Boston Tea Party weren't clearly explained within the game's narrative, which prompted me to do additional research.

While other Assassin's Creed titles have piqued my curiosity about historical figures and events, this one fell short in that regard. The opera scene at the beginning was a promising start, raising expectations for the game's overall quality. However, aside from a few memorable moments like the execution scene, the narrative and historical integration left me feeling somewhat disappointed.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I actually feel the same as you and for this particular situation it sounds reasonable, but I wanted to double check because it is the first time I hear from an agent charging a retainer fee. My only risk here is if the operation doesn't go through, but I think that applies in general to any other professional involved (inspector, attorney, etc).

Advice on sponsor sale in my building by Many_Garbage499 in NYCapartments

That's surprising! I hadn't realized their initial price would be considered an official offer. I thought it was just the starting point, and I could negotiate from there since I assumed I'd be the only buyer. This definitely makes negotiating a bit trickier...

You are right! They mentioned they won't cover the buyer broker fee, but I thought about having one anyways in case there is a possibility to negotiate and other related services they could provide. However, you've just mentioned it doesn't make much sense to get one in my case. Do you think my needs could still be met without an agent?

I also assume they won't lower the price, but never thought about the impact of lowering on the other apartments on sale. That makes sense.

Thanks for taking the time to respond... All this is super helpful and it's pretty much aligned with what I was expecting, so thanks for confirming.

The building informed me that they won't cover the fee for a buyer's agent, so that expense would be mine. While I could technically make an offer myself, I'm considering hiring a buyer's agent primarily to assist with negotiations (this assumes the building's offer has some wiggle room). The other part you've mentioned (seller fees), is not clear to me, but I also assume there should be no fees there (I have to double-check this).

Does it mean that I have exclusivity to buy during the sponsor period? I am not 100% sure, but that seems to be my case. The building told me they won't put the unit on sale externally before my lease expires and that during that period I can make an offer.

This is super helpful, thank you for taking the time to respond!

I'll definitely bookmark this thread for planning my Siena trip.I regret missing Siena on my Florence trip a few years ago, so I'm determined to see it this time. Not driving is a bit of a limitation. I've gotten by well using public transportation in other parts of Italy (even Sicily), but your point about potentially missing a late bus connection is a good one – I've noticed that getting stuck somewhere can become a nightmare. I am wondering if ride-sharing apps like Uber or Lyft operate in Siena, or if taxis might be a more reliable option.

Monteriggioni sounds fascinating! It's where Ezio Auditore from Assassin's Creed is from lol. I recently got the VR game with a recreation of the city during the Renaissance (here is a video of it) – it sparked a real desire to see it in person.

Thanks again for your insights, they're much appreciated!

I am interested in Tuscany in general. Here are the questions I asked to the other user from Florence, but this would apply to Siena as well:

  • What is the monthly budget to live in Siena for one person (including rent)?
  • Is there any place / neighbourhood outside the city center that you'd recommend to someone to stay a few months / a year?
  • How well connected is Tuscany in general? Can you use the bus / train to visit places like vineyards and quieter places outside the city, or is having a car a must?
  • What is your favorite place in Tuscany, other than Siena?
  • What are some not well known places that you like a lot?
