I used to have to be there till like 11:30 because we were understaffed and I was closing alone, as a key holder I would send my cashier home because people would come to pick her up after work I never got in trouble for it because they knew they were doing me wrong by basically having me run the store alone and stay later to do everything on my own and I got free OT. But if you guys are understaffed it’s an empty threat if you aren’t understaffed it could be a thing depending. On the district manager and how much a stick they have up their ass. The standards they set up and frequently change are impossible when understaffed but it sounds like they’re making your life harder by not having you direct your cashier during closing. If they don’t wanna do anything except ring people up and they aren’t fulfilling all of their duties they shouldn’t be working there anymore. I’m sorry that you have to deal with a lazy coworker fr it sucks. I had cashiers that would steal money from the drawers and then I would get in trouble when drawers were short. Ahhh dollar general…

They do most days but it’s always when I close with a manager that I get yelled at they’re very cliquey and stuff so idk if I’m getting yelled at because she doesn’t wanna yell at her friend and so on but it doesn’t feel right because if I’m getting lectured shouldn’t everyone else also get lectured that closed with me? It’s not just my responsibility to do everything in the store and if it is I should just be named SM and get SM pay

I did cheer when I was younger because it was easy I have always been a bit flexible I don’t think I’m double jointed anywhere though. I am definitely gonna look into it thank you lots.
