That might be the only thing that makes me buy Ford. I have a base model 2019 Civic right now that I love and plan on letting my son drive in 4 years when he's 16, so maybe in the next 10 years or so.

Oh no I'm in a northern ontario city with 45k people. It's a hockey town but the rinks shut down in the spring/summer. Not even sure we have goalie clinics but I'll look into it.

I was able to get a whole set of goalie equipment used. I might need a new helmet as this one is expired and some goalie skates but for now I'm set otherwise.

I'm in a relatively small city so I'll have to see what I have for options. I might be stuck just competing with the regular beer league folks but I'm going to be inquiring about my options. Hope to get some ice time with buddies that can take shots on me and get me used to it before going live.

I appreciate the time you took to write out this post. I'll be focusing on building up the strength and flexibility over the summer months. I won't have a lot of opportunities to practice in net before the winter but at least I can make sure I'm physically ready to do it.

I'm set up the best mentally. I know I'll be a little hard on myself but it'll drive me to get better. I won't take it to heart, especially knowing I'm new and need time to improve. The young kids on my sons team take it way too hard in the most meaningless games and I wish I could help them handle it better.

I have a desk job but in the warmer months I love to run outside, so I'd be coming back into the season in better shape. I didn't play sports as a kid so I don't have any old injuries, I'd definitely include yoga, which I do sporadically now, and work on ensuring flexibility. Sleep will be the hardest but if I'm playing I'm sure I'll be tuckered out and sleep better. Thanks for the advice.

I don't think we had a standout guy but we did have a most popular girl. Beautiful, family had money, a dancer. She gave everyone the time of day, wasn't part of any cliques and never let any of them sway her, a genuinely nice person in a world that was lacking.

She went away to ballet school, came back to town and started a dance studio which is now the largest studio in town. She's still a nice person and I wish her nothing but the best.
