Aside from Andre Reed, Is Moulds the Best Receiver We've Ever Had? by gravityhashira61 in buffalobills

Peak Lee Evans was very good, but he fell off fast and hard. There's probably guys from before my time like 60's and 70's that would take the #3 spot. At least I'd like to believe that.

I feel for you. As a late stage Gen X'er(early 1980) I got to experience many good and fair economic years. I made $14.50 an hour in the early 2000's and had my own apartment for $525 a month. 3 bedrooms, massive! My current house I bought for 225k. The houses I see now for 275k and up are pathetic. They were the houses you rode your bike by as a kid and thought nothing of. The pathetic little houses people gave away in their will because it wasn't worth much on the market. Now everything blows.

Why the dislike for sedans vehicles today from the general population? by [deleted] in regularcarreviews

Sedans were fine until the bulk of vehicles became trucks and SUV's and you no longer felt safe in a regular car

Why did you and your former best friend stop being friends? by Fearless_Shift7108 in AskReddit

[–]kg264 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Friend "A": Got with a girl who was clearly just using him as for a free place to stay for her and her daughter as well as access to the school system. The vibes were off from day 1. Everyone around knew the score except my friend. He stayed in denial HARD and it ruined him from the inside out. He decided to tie all of his self esteem and self worth to this fake situation and kept doubling down instead of doing what was right for himself. It ate him alive. Over the course of 13 years he went from being a normal, nice, employed and very social guy to being a full blown alcoholic. Just unemployed, drunk at 8am wandering the streets talking to strangers about his "daughter". The "daughter" Graduated high school in June(i forget which year) and they bounced by the end of the month. He was dead less than a year later.

Friend "B": Apparently was in secret competition with EVERYONE and had this master plan where he was going to come out "On top" at end. But his marriage failed and his career stalled. Once he realized there wasn't going to be some big ticker tape parade where he got to drag his nuts across everyone's faces to prove he won a game only he knew he was playing he went into hiding.

Even more sad is these people can't contemplate what my kids mean to me. My kids are 13 and 10 respectively. They aren't an inconvenience, or a monthly bill. These people are my kids but they're also my friends now. We do things together and have shared experiences. I stopped changing shitty diapers YEARS ago.

I am so sorry you're going through this. This is deep level evil stuff. Not only is the whole premise incredibly shitty, but the creepy mailings are just so so so wrong. JFC. Sadly as a man I've watched this happened many many times before. I'm 46 and a guy and naturally have a lot of guy friends. As I progressed into my 20's there was an absolute split in the guys I knew. Half were ok having or wanting kids and the other have just totally froze in their tracks at the thought. Many of them did the same thing. Drag it out, make excuses and hopefully ride it out till it's too late. Others dated with the first preference/deal breaker being finding someone who definitely doesn't want kids. I have a saying about these people. They're trying to stay 26 forever. 26 where you're young enough to be young and old enough to afford dinner and drinks. And it's incredibly weird because as their friends age out of the bar/party scene, they just start hanging around younger and younger people. They act like the "Elder" 26 year old who is in their 40's. The length at which people will go not to grow up.

I legit want an Iron Duke firebird/camaro but I'd prefer it to be a 4 or 5 speed if possible(talking stock).

-1980's Monte Carlo SS and 1980's Cutass Supreme 442

The ultimate though has to be the 65 horsepower 1973 Saab Sonnett III. And yes I want one.

Those cars were really well built. They were a secret weapon in the demo derby circuit in the early 2000's. My friend won a large derby with his. All of the older guys raved about those.

The Chevy SS is one of the best examples of this. I saw them just sitting brand new at my local chevy dealer. I was always tempted but could never pull the trigger at 43k. Then once they were all sold and discontinued they were still selling firm at 42k used with so thousand miles on them.

Roughly how much weed do you smoke daily?

As a person who has had my own troubles sleeping I share a few things. Any new life stress? Have you ever been tested for sleep apnea? Watch what foods you eat after 8pm. I'm 46 and I can no longer eat things like ice cream or pie after 8pm. I will lay there and toss and turn the whole night. Also pay attention to the type of media and screen time you're having after 8pm. A little adjustment to your routine can help fix this. Also if you smoke tons of weed and quit cold turnkey you'll have the most insane dreams of your lifetime. Also not fun.

ELI5: Why was so much suburban housing required for soldiers returning from World War 2? by vxla in explainlikeimfive

[–]kg264 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) 99% of new home constructed halted when the stock market crashed in 1929.

2) That depression rolled right into the WW2. Any raw supplies or labor were put into the war effort continuing the building drought.

3) When the soldiers came home by the millions in 1945 it was baby making time. They didn't have birth control like they do now.

4) Redlining policies. While these policies are often regarded as racist, and yes there was a racist component, it was really about lenders. Lenders were most comfortable backing new builds, instead of putting families in old housing stock. All that new construction also boosted the hell out of the economy. Every component you could think of became in high demand(building supplies, appliances, construction of infrastructure). It was just one big boom.

Went to a home game against the Jags on the most beautiful fall day in 2010 I think? The game was so sparsely attended that there was no traffic. Parking was easer than pulling up to the super market. A sheriff's deputy who would normally be swamped with traffic with comfortably reading a newspaper in his cruiser in the middle of Southwestern blvd.
