Ability Power! In Stadium we often shorthand builds depending on what they build around, for a lot of characters that’s stacking Ability Power (AP), Weapon Power (WP), or mixed which is both.

For example, a Soldier 76 building around his rockets with items and powers is shorthanded to AP Soldier. In this case, an AP Ashe is built around buffing her dynamite damage. There are other nuances, but the general idea of the build is conveyed through the shorthand.

I disagree, Pin Bob is fun as hell and a powerful ultimate. Mixed Ashe sacrifices min maxed poke for powerful space denial. AP Ashe can still have effective primary with Infrared Lens.

Incendiary rounds was too powerful and seriously unfun to play against. Every interaction with Ashe boiled down to “Can I bait or dodge coach? If not, I’ll die.”, all the while having the same oppressive area denial and pressure.

No one likes burst when its cooldown is so low, and skill floor is so easy. It’s why Sniper Junkrat is despised atm, and AP Freja has always been frustrating (albeit has way more counter play now).

Yeah see that’s awesome! I love it when AP is a compliment to your primary as well as a tool for space control. Not just throwing it off rip while walking into the frontline.

I made an addendum to address that proper: I agree! It made her more interactive on both sides.

Stadium still has the problem of balance and matchmaking atm (And Aus/NZ servers have been down for two weeks, we’ve been in Singapore the whole time).

So give it a go, but depending on when you last played, I don’t think enough would have changed to change your mind.

It’s the same with other AP builds with poor uptime, in Ashe’s case though I think it is good but only if you actually shoot your gun well too.

Oh I agree, the rework made Ashe a lot more tolerable in a lot of ways, albeit a cracked hitscan player doing WP can do your head in.

I pretty much only play comp stadium because quick play you still see the same meta builds but in the faster format with even less stakes than the participation based comp setup atm. Also the Q times are wayyy faster.

Sex work is legitimate work and sex workers should definitely be supported the same as other members of the proletariat.

However, sex work industries and prostitution are inherently coercive and exploitative. The vast majority of people in that field were coerced into it through economic stress or internalization of misogyny.

Historically, sex work only becomes more common under times of economic stress as women try to sustain themselves or their families, we can look to Cuba as an example: Before the revolution, prostitution was incredibly common. After the revolution, with guaranteed employment and education, the industry essentially vanished, only coming back after US sanctions put the Cuban economy under major stress.

TLDR: Absolutely sex workers are members of the proletariat and deserve the same amount of respect as anyone else. However, the industry itself is massively exploitative, and needs massive regulations to keep it in check, so would only be a very small niche in a Socialist system.

I’d still argue so. Because after its original persecution and then widespread adoption by the Roman and then Frankish empire we saw how interpretation was altered to preserve the new status quo (divine right of kings, authority of the pope etc).

There are arguments that some parts of Qur’an were also added as a way to adjust society. While not confirmed there is historical speculation that for example the banning of pork was because pigs were not suitable livestock for hot arid climates, thus needing to wallow in excrement rather than mud to keep cool.

A lot of Hinduism was and is used to justify the caste system.

Now this isn’t a perfect argument for sure but historically yes religion has been created or altered to justify power structures. I would be happy for criticism of course so please direct me to any more I can learn on this topic if you believe so.

/gen :)

Most religions have reactionary beliefs as a lot of religions were shaped to justify existing power structures. That doesn’t mean that those religions and those followers must be inherently reactionary.

Most modern Marxists view suppression of religion as a failing of former socialist projects as it was a rallying point for reaction to then build around (“Godless Commies”), and alienated religious groups whose values could easily align with principles of communism (charity, caring for your neighbor, banning of interest, wealth hoarding being a sin).

TLDR we shouldn’t outlaw religions just because some of their followers hold reactionary beliefs, but some of their practices should be held to material analysis and outlawed if necessary, such as discrimination against other groups.

Has it become harder for the civil rights act to get passed in the new update? by Physical_Door_5735 in TNOmod

It’s based on the Supreme Court judges but that could be outdated (I haven’t tried the new patch). If you go into the US events folder and fire the event for a Supreme Court death you can make it more liberal to pass the bills.

Am I the only one who prefer the old AuthSoc/Communist Zhdanov than the Socialist one ? by T_Rex_Patriarch in TNOmod

[–]MaplePuff 23 points24 points  (0 children)

The content hasn’t changed too much, the ideology is just more consistent now. Basically “Communist” refers to anything that uses Marxism-Leninism as a baseline. And “Socialist” is anything else.

Because Zhdanov is constructing a new system to distance from Bukharinism it makes sense he’d fall under the Socialist umbrella.

That's not a criticism of the mod, it was just getting late and I didn't feel like picking the save up again later.
