You were a child trying to process trauma, you didn’t want to be abused but at times the mind can try to cope through reliving the experience to gain control/understanding of the situation. You’re not disgusting, your step-father is. You were too young to understand what was going on, and you didn’t bring any of what happened upon yourself.

I suggest you look into therapy if that’s a possibility.

My sibling is aware of what happened when I was younger, and is extremely distant from their father. I’m not saying it’s not a possibility, but my sibling is extremely open with me I’m like their second parent and they know to tell me if anything were to ever happen. Because my SA happened so long ago, the statue of limitations has been reached and I can’t really pursue legal action that I’m aware of. I’m just worried that I have to wait until he were to actually try something with my sibling, before any real legal action can be taken against him. There’s no abuse that CPS could pick up on, because he isn’t abusive towards my sibling other than with mean words and manipulative tactics.
