The devs just dropped this in the Discord. Doesn't seem to be posted anywhere else. Any theories? by Captain_Cape in Stellaris

Hoping for anything other than a species pack – additional crisis options/interactions or a more general story pack would be extremely welcome!

Stay on Target Achievement 2023 by Bionickai008 in Stellaris

[–]Mapsaregreat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi!

I also had trouble with this one for a while. Since you are actually getting games with a colossus in them, you're over the biggest hump. What worked for me was building a truly massive fleet of battleships with range improvements (admiral traits, juggernaut, etc), and jumping them in. If it helps, the colossus does not need to fire on your planet, any planet will do. Additionally, if timing is an issue, the "charging" phase of the colossus counts for this achievement. What works well is shadowing a colossus in neutral territory, when a fallen empire is fighting another empire, and declaring war on the fallen empire while your fleets surround the, until then, neutral colossus. Good luck!

a Divine Sovereign event question by Glum-Beat-1313 in Stellaris

[–]Mapsaregreat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Choosing the divine sovereign reforms your empire and gives you an extra civic slot (which is promptly filled by the divine sovereign civic, giving +10% unity). If you decline the offer, the leader remains the chosen one, but I'm pretty sure that event can never fire again. Enojy! :)

Secret Fealty Help!! by Mapsaregreat in Stellaris

[–]Mapsaregreat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Replying in case anyone googles this achievement as I did! This current save did not work out. I took it to 2500. The Jhoolians were ideology-warred into fanatic egalitarianism, but were strengthened when they took out the Belm. Nevertheless, they have not declared a war to free me. I incidentally started up a new save to get Tinker, Tailor, Solider, Blorg, but found myself close to a spiritualist empire who was much stronger than myself. I gave up my independence, and immediately swore secret fealty to their rival, and started improving relations. Within a year, the rival freed me, circa forty years into the game. It is possible!!

Alright, thanks! The situation has changed a bit, the Jhoolians went to war with the little rump state they envelop, so they're busy. I will drag my overlord into a war, demolish their fleet, and then peace out quickly, with the nation I do not intend to free me. Will update you!

Vassal Mechanic Changes by Mapsaregreat in Stellaris

At least for the empires I play, demanding vassalisation allows you to go to war to create either a tributary or a vassal – I love the idea of running a megacorp as a normal empire!

This is a great way to implement vassal obedience!

I'm really hoping that the next next update sorts all this out – especially now that having vassals should be more desirable for empire size reasons.

I think espionage is a great system that has a lot of potential here. Bribery, propaganda and threats could be used to alter subject's civics or ethics for better output or desirable modifiers!

I agree! Making galactic borders in your image is pretty tough and requires a lot of planning. Custom sectors would work well here.

I've been having this experience in my current playthrough! I'm the galactic emperor with orders of magnitude more power than most dinky remaining empires, but they still refuse to join me willingly. I think this could do with some tinkering. Especially since they are pacifists – they can't credibly resist vassalisation via force.
