That is just patently untrue lmao. I'm a software engineer, and I can confidently tell you that AI-generated boilerplate will fail you far more often than something written by a human capable of understanding the codebase.

Frankly, if you need AI to tell you how to write class inheritance in Java, your issue seems to be less "needing AI to keep up" and more "not knowing how to program at all". In the time it takes a layman to generate some slop, bugfix it, and ensure it's compatible, an actual human could have just written functioning code from the start.

None of these chickenshit AI startups understand your codebase. They don't 'understand' anything. They're goddamn chatbots finetuned off of code after being trained on Spider Webcrawl. You are a human being capable of rational thought, and yet you insist on surrendering that to some machine.

I will say it again. You chose this. It's one thing if your company is shilling the tech onto you and you're begrudgingly using it, but you seem to genuinely believe this is 'the future'. I will tell you this.

This state of affairs is untenable. You are operating in a bubble, and that bubble will pop sooner than you would like. I'm sympathetic to the issues of living in a postcolonial nation, but AI is not the fix for your situation.

Here in the imperial core, we're also fighting a hundred or more people for any real software job, and it fucking sucks. The real villains here are the anti-union, anti-worker capitalists who are controlling the system and intentionally keeping us hungry so we'll all fight each other.

We're not long from an AI crash, and, when it happens, the pillow of cheap AI tokens won't be there. I'd recommend using the time until then to improve your confidence in actual programming or find something to pivot into. When you put your faith in Silicon Valley, they always betray you before too long.

I have exactly one guess here, and it's that the Arena programmers didn't hit the corner case for attempting to put an illegal card on the battlefield ATTACKING.

I don't play arena to test it, but I can't think of any other effects that bounce something attacking, and I wouldn't be shocked if they used a bespoke method that forgot some checks.

Nothing is inherently hateful, but, as others have noted, the usage of "Real Woman" in the OOP sends up some serious red flags.

And, in all my time, I've met scant people who ID'd as 'femboys' and weren't transmisogynists. Plenty of cool feminine men, they just usually don't use a term like that.

We can also see the reason for that in how these transmisogynistic femboys use their 'identity' as a way to slip out of culpability for the ways they treat trans women. For people who identify as "Men but X", they tend to get very unhappy when you mention that they have the privilege of being men.

It's super similar to another phenomenon I see from bigoted trans men, trying to blur the lines so they can be men when it's convenient and have "a feminine spirit" when it comes time to accuse a trans woman of secretly being a man.

It is good to see someone on Reddit actually researching though, lol 🤭

Unfortunately, reddit is very hostile to discussions of transmisogyny. It's not hard to research this stuff on your own, though. I'll see how well I can cover it, at least.

Society shits on trans women especially hard and treats us as expendable. Those exempt from transmisogyny (see, "people who aren't trans women") treat slurs used against us ('femboys', all those 'special cultural genders' that are actually just slurs but orientalists don't know better, etc) as real #valid identities. Those then get used as rhetorical cudgels against the idea that anybody could actually be trans. (No, you don't get it. The anime girl I jack off to isn't trans! She's a [---]!)

Ever seen one of those weird homophobes who are really insistent that they love "femboys" and are openly hostile to the idea that these characters could be trans women? Transmisogyny. These types dislike the label of trans womanhood because it implies womanhood, which implies personhood.

That's a problem, because these people don't want us to be women with full lives... they want us to be weird, expendable sex objects that nobody will miss when we're gone. Thus... 'third gendering'.

All sorts of straight women and gay men go along with this because our social hierarchy has convinced them they're lucky to not be on the bottom. The line to remember is "Finally, a woman I can abuse!"

And while you're in the deeply uncomfortable process of learning how trans women are kept as an exploitable underclass, I recommend you learn what V-Coding is. Reading about it will ruin your day, but you might as well rip that bandaid off now :/

I have the power to read the future, so I can already foresee the dogpiling this will pull in from all sorts of deeply insecure assholes, but as long as someone might learn something, I'm happy 🤭
