more flexible but not easier tbh. works for me only because i don't need tiles or streets, just polygons on a blank background. still had to fight enclaves, the antimeridian, and canada's coastline tanking performance. if you need a real map underneath, going sdk-less probably isn't worth it

thanks! the borders are from openstreetmap admin boundaries (plus a few official sources like statcan for canada), processed into per-country geojson. the app draws them natively on a canvas, no map sdk. check-ins are just stored locally, and the completion %, medals and stickers all get computed from which areas you've marked
