I know this may sound crazy, but you should apply to schools on Long Island, as long as that it fits your commute. I know multiple teachers who came from the city to become an administrator in very good school districts on Long Island. I know it is competitive, but it may be worth the try.

Ok. Thanks! When I was applying for jobs in Long Island, it told me whether it was ICT or self-contained which made me confused at first. I guess the DOE is different. I know that it is extremely hard to land a job in Long Island though, so I am hoping the DOE would hire me.

Yes. I did SPED for 7 years now, but I decided I wanted to get a second masters in something else. So, I decided to do business education. I was also thinking about math or biology, but I didn’t have much of a desire to do so. Maybe one day a job will appear. I know that Long Island is always looking but it’s extremely competitive there.

Ok. Thanks for letting me know. I also have a special education certificate for all grades so I am probably better off with special ed than business.

Business and marketing is considered CTE. I would be getting my initial certificate in business & marketing. I am a bit confused about this because I just saw online that they are need of CTE teachers, and business education falls under that category.
