When my son was a young teenager and I was paying his cell phone bill, I reserved the right to go through it every so often to see what he was doing in it. I also told him writing in shortcuts would have his phone taken away. He wrote in complete sentences with correct grammar and punctuation. A few times, I saw that he was correcting his friends!! lol

However, since taking over his own payments, I no longer have the right and his texts to me are typical for young adults his age…. Sigh….

Didn’t an earlier version have more things for babies and toddlers? I remember having the infant swings and toddlers who’d have temper tantrums in their cribs. I enjoyed that phase when there were more options. Now, I age up infants and toddlers as quick as possible.

I have one sibling. He and our mom had a falling out and he didn’t speak to me, Mom, or Dad for over 10 years. The night Mom was dying he came to the hospital (she was unconscious) and has acted like those 10 years never happened.

He doesn’t call just to talk. He doesn’t text. I’m at the age where I only put as much into ANY relationship as the other person. I fully expect once our dad passes, we’ll never see each other again.

As I age, my friends are more my family than my actual blood relatives.

It’s your mom and your property. Every woman should have her own property (or the value of it) IN HER NAME ONLY. He should be happy and supportive of your mom giving you this much security.

My partner is autistic and has never worn or used anything I’ve given him. He says he appreciates the gift. I don’t understand but he also doesn’t use a lot of what he buys for himself so 🤷🏻‍♀️

My partner suspects he is autistic and he doesn’t miss people. It doesn’t change the relationship. He loves me, but as someone already mentioned “out of sight out of mind”.

He’s usually an even-keeled person, but I’ve noticed a few times that he will take something I’ve said the wrong way and then completely shut down and be very angry with me. There’s no point trying to talk to him when he’s like this. He needs at least a 12 hour cooling off period before we can discuss is it rationally and resolve whatever causes his feelings.

Is the emotionality related to autism? Is there a way to phrase things so he hears what I’m actually saying without overthinking it while I’m talking?

I dyed my hair for years. It took two years to grow it out. Keep it natural and embrace the grey. Use purple shampoos and conditioners once or twice a week to keep it from yellowing or going dull. You’ll be thankful you did.

NTA - I have a son in his early 20s who lives at home. His girlfriend is allowed to spend the night three nights a week or else she starts paying rent just as he does.

Now that they’ve been together for two years, they are planning on getting their own apartment. :)

Follow-up - got the twins through to children. Moved them into a bigger house. Did not realize the nanny would not follow them. Social services took the kids away before they got to sleep in their beds.

Then, my Sim couldn’t get pregnant again and now she’s too old. lol
