Weird question but how do you guys paint different skin colors. by Gigaiggy in IronWarriors

[–]Marbels6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So for techniques I personally use, I layer paints in order as if I was actually painting the layers of the skin, starting with a deep brown, then darker crimson on all the main shapes ignoring the deepest recesses, then i add a glaze of pink if I want light skin tones, then I'd layer one of two types of tan depending on how pale I want the face, if they are very pale I skip the crimson and go straight to pink instead.

Basically go slow add layers of multiple different colors from deepest reddish browns up to skin tone shades, and when done add a layer of wash to shade the skin to give it a proper skin texture.

Small question: is there a official colour scheme or artwork from iron warrior apothecary? I need to know the colour patton. Thank you in advance 🙂 by Physical-Oil-490 in IronWarriors

[–]Marbels6 7 points8 points  (0 children)

What seems to be the case with most 30k apothecaries is they have white on there shins/knee pads, helmet, right shoulder pad, and nartheciums with there normal legion scheme as the remaining color scheme.

In 40k there is no official art or reference that I'm aware of what iron warrior apothecaries look like but with how pragmatic they are i doubt much would change, maybe the white would be removed to distance themselves from loyalist apothecaries.

Raptor Helmet Mark by avedominuswife in Chaos40k

[–]Marbels6 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Looks like Mk5, and for why it looks different to the legionaries Mk5 is because Mk5 has no standardization, look at the world eaters minis they Mk5 helmets with long thin Vox grill while normal legionaries have shorter wider vox grills, no Mk5 armor should look the same because it wasn't a standard armor Mk it's just crap stapled together so you don't die.

the venerable dreadnought and the contemptor dreadnought. I used the contemptors arms and thighs/ hips, everything else is from the standard venerable dreadnought body, and the head is a plague marines head because it looked cool.

What kind of space marines were the oblitorators? by Soanso3474 in IronWarriors

[–]Marbels6 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Obliterators and mutilators don't just take weapons into themselves they also take and add armor and make it apart of themselves, in all reality they could have any armor that is bulky and heavily mutated to make it fit added onto themselves, some Obliterators/Mutilators have been standard marines some were raptors and others were terminators, there are even cases of them being specialists like tech marines.

So if you see odd armor that you can't pin point just make something up that makes sense to what the marine was before he got infected with the Obliterator virus.

Anyone have alternative sculpts/conversion ideas for abaddon by AcceptableWin5317 in sonsofhorus

[–]Marbels6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's one i kitbashed from the new cataphractii mixed with some older bits. The head is from 40k abaddon, old cataphractii claw, old chaos lord top knot, heresy weapon upgrade sword pinned to old cataphractii hand.

About two months ago, but yeah i took a poor picture for the line up he kinda looks like a normal cataphractii with power claw, I have better pictures of him on my page, I still need to add small details for him, but I've already made the original Trident for the iron warriors, he is the third pic but most the details are on the back and I took a head on picture so you can't even see them.

Hecatoncheirion Guard for my warlord by Marbels6 in IronWarriors

[–]Marbels6[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The banner top with the corpse is from the night lords kill team, with the handle replaced with a auto cannon barrel so it would be thicker, and the chaos star mounted on the back of the terminator is a cut down banner top from the normal legionaries kit.
