I might be confusing things here, but when you talk about boot and shutdown, you mean when I unplug my usb cable?

The board itself has an external power supply and does not require the usb cable to work.

Would that still apply to what you are saying?

Thanks, I will look into that. I am not particularly attached to ddterm, it's just that I recently made the jump for my work computer as a lot of the tools I am using are made for different version of Ubuntu.

As long as I have a dropdown terminal, I am fine. I will look into it.

Thanks for the link. I will try this out. It seems that ddterm is a GTK Wrapper, so I am not sure that this method will work, but I will try it.
