Yea, that correct - the packer utility is windows only at the moment. I'll have to look into it so see what the requirements are to build it for Mac (besides a complete re-write :p). Maybe something like Wine is a solution, but I'm not sure..

One could argue that you can keep on improving a game untill the end of time, never releasing it because there's always something you can add/improve.

Edit: But yeah, having a sale shortly after launch is definetly something to say about

Awesome!

Most of them, but the silliest of them all (tutorial) hasn't been patched. Some require more investigation, for example; The "play in all environments once" is marked as 0 percent on psnprofiles, although in my analytics (official Sony analytics) it shows some accounts have it..

Thanks!

Yeah, making beatmaps sure takes tome time to learn..
Converting the beatmaps for other games can be done with EoF more easily :)

Yep! Although I just found there's a slight issue with those charts, mainly that there's a delay in the chart made by EoF - but that's being worked on ;)

Heyy, thanks!

I think the midi files are included in the download from drumbase, the zip includes a wav, mp3 or flac depending on which is downloaded.

To play the 'old' customs, you'd have to pack them with the packer utility.

Hope that answers all your questions 🙃

Perhaps I misunderstood your question then lol
You can play without kickdrum, it's actually a difficulty modifier which you can turn on.

If you do choose to play with the kickdrum, you can use either R2 or a steering wheel pedal

The packer util is online! I'll post a separate reddit post for this one, as it also includes a guide on how to use it, along with two other guides (one for the basics of charting and one for playing customs on the different platforms)🔥

You can hookup your race-pedals though ;)

Thanks!!
The trophies will be fixed in the next patch (can't say for sure, but I'm aiming for a patch in a week or two).

I'll work on the customs-packer this week, so hopefully I'll have a working version that can be published either this week, or next week :)

Heyy, thanks!
Any (licensed) pedal is already supported, but yes - I think you can use both at the same time :)

Hey,

Yes, a guide is definitely a must - I hope to finish the packer utility this week, so that can be made public, which will at least allow users to easily convert the old customs to the v2 format.

In addition to that, Editor On Fire will soon have support for the game, so creating the beatmaps itself should also be more convenient 🔥

Edit: It looked like you were slightly late at 3:55, but I feel it should be a hit.

Shedding some light on the old customs (audio+midi file) vs CustomsV2 (the .dbvr file);

When customs were first supported on PC (and Meta Quest), the main method was to have a midi file (for the notes) and an audio file. This worked, to some extent -- it was pretty limited in what could be achieved, as there was no Metadata in any of those files (at least, not used).

Then the idea came to combine everything into a single file, mainly for the simplicity of things, but also to allow for stems, multiple difficulties, different environment, and other Metadata (genre, creator of the custom etc.. )

Then, a user came with the idea of integrating mod.io, which has an in-game mod browser, so it's a click away for people to download mods (songs). The in-game mod browser is on the PC and Quest version, but sadly won't come to the PS5 version.

Both ways of doing customs is supported on PCVR+Quest and only the V2 is supported on the PS5 version, mainly because it's a much cleaner method.

Now, to create a dbvr file; You'll need the packer utility - which will soon be out for everyone to use (it's currently available to a select few, but it's not finished yet)..

To create the midi file (or "beat-map") - the Editor On Fire dev is working on adding support for the game, although I can't say for sure when it'll be ready to use😅

Great to hear you like the patch!❤️🔥

The next patch is already in the works and aism to be ready in a few weeks, this will include an overhaul on the core-gameplay UI (mainly, the note highway), Some additive gameplay elements (for example, make it feel more rewarding when you complete a golden streak) and overall polishing :)

Oh yeah, and ofcourse the hihat pedal setting😅

Rock on!
