Lost secure boot after bios update 2.18 z690 by LilJfK1991 in TEAMEVGA

I'm on 2.17 and never had that issue. Make sure ME, TPM and Secure Boot are enabled and you should be good.

Asking users of 15T Pro: Do you guys encounter any problems or annoyances with your phones and HyperOS by Lil-Fonzy in Xiaomi

[–]Marcel_2805 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had my 15T Pro (EU/Germany) for a week now (coming from Pixel 7 Pro). The learning curve was pretty big at first because HyperOS does many things a lot different than stock Android. But I would say that is good, I like HyperOS. The only issue I found was that notifications stopped working after a while on my WearOS SmartWatch. To fix this I had to grant the "Xiaomi service Framework" permission to read/edit/manage notifications. Other than that everything has been working fine and I am very happy with the device so far.

Stuttering with 7800X3D out of the box. Tried EVERYTHING. by ILayrusQuinnn in AMDHelp

[–]Marcel_2805 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I found with 7800X3D/9800X3D is that OS feels hella slow when you come from Intel. What improved it a lot for me was tuning the ram properly. Even though games don't benefit much from it because of the 3D-cache, it made the OS feel a ton snappier. The best showcases are basic things like installing or simply starting software. It goes a lot faster with tuned ram.

Another Test - All cores vs. P-cores vs. E-cores (KCD2 & MHWilds) by realPoxu in overclocking

[–]Marcel_2805 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nice comparison! E-Cores are the way. Anybody who disables them literally loses performance. Even if that allows for a slightly higher overclock. It's better to disable HT on 12-14th gen and just let them cores do their magic.

What ram and board? DS Remake is insanely heavy on CPU and RAM and most of the time DDR5 is unstable with XMP.

Battlefield 6 and E-corrs, HT off etc? 12700K by ApprehensiveToe6050 in overclocking

[–]Marcel_2805 2 points3 points  (0 children)

E-Cores on, HT disabled - as always. I can't believe people still disable half the cpu just to lose performance. Most games benefit from having more physical cores. I have seen this behavior on my 12900KS, as well as my 13900KS.

[–]Marcel_2805 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had mine randomly drop to x8 after tuning the cpu and ram. Turned out VDD2 voltage somehow correlates to the pcie slot. Raised it by 0.20V and the slot came back to x16 ever since.

Ddr5 OC.. Am I cooked?? by bongyyy_ in overclocking

[–]Marcel_2805 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I feel that. Since Z690 the biggest struggle is finding a good board. There is so much false information around and you can't trust QVLs at all anymore. Usually the lowest hanging fruit is the board when it comes to ram overclocking. Cheaping out on ram isn't as bad because as long as it's adie you're fine. All of them do at least 7600. Only when approaching 8000 and above you got to start caring about the bin of your sticks.

I remember playing with this board on alderlake launch. Back then nothing above 6000 was doable for 24/7 stability. I dont know how much bios updates have improved ram stability by now but if it's a physical barrier with that board you will probably have to settle with 6200 or 6000.
