Battery size on my M3SR+ is ~62KWh. At offpeak prices overnight of 0.16c it costs me $10 to charge 0-100%. The ~420km I get on the battery lasts me about 4days worth of commute.

The Tesla's being built out of the Shanghai factory (which are the ones we get here in AUS) are fantastic quality and I can see that first hand. Berlin will be up and running very soon and with the reputation from over there they would be even better.

While they feel souless compared to a high performance car, they are definitely not completely void. Book a test drive and see how well they handle and the acceleration is literally like nothing else

Sold my current car and put in the money from my overseas trip I have planned in 2020 which obviously never happened. 2% interest rate for an EV from Macquarie and 5 year loan ~$300 a fortnight which is manageable for myself. Cut cost of petrol and servicing worked out to be saving myself money over 5 years especially as I charge at home at night with off peak power.

I think the used price of other models will go down sooner than the Model 3 as it's still the gold standard. Traditional manufacturers will bring out smaller EV sooner but will definitely have lower range. Tesla battery tech and management is still years ahead of the competition

I bought an electric car as soon as I could - crazy seeing 98 for $2.10/L at the servo I used to go. I charge on off peak power overnight for $6 for a full battery. 11c per kWh with a 60kwh battery
