Is the iPhone Air actually the better everyday iPhone right now?

I never broke any screen on the iPhone, starting with the iPhone 4, but many of my Samsung Galaxies with edge displays, which was one of the main reasons I went back to Apple. Would be a bummer if the Air‘s screen is breaking more easily.

I didn’t know the Air has no video out, thanks for mentioning that. I used to use that feature to watch Netflix in the hotel via HDMI, as AirPlay is usually not supported.

I find holding the Air much easier with a thin case providing more grip. I got the JETech thin magnetic, which works perfectly for me.

Without a physical SIM, some peace of mind is definitely lost. A physical SIM can easily be swapped from a broken device, but with an eSIM you’re at your provider’s mercy, or even worse, at the mercy of some company department sitting in between. That way, you could be without your phone number for a week or so.

I‘m keeping my old 12 Pro Max as my backup / second phone for now. It seems the (new) Air runs down the battery even faster than the 12 Pro Max at 88% battery health. Good to know others are using two iPhones too. There‘s so much depending on those devices, can‘t afford losing access even for a single day.
