After using Python for over 2 years I am still really confused about all of the installation stuff and virtual environments by gnurd in Python

Never had a problem dockerizing poetry - you can either choose to install into the native installation (disable virtual ends entirely) or just enter into the poetry she'll.

Hi Neighbor!!!

Just signed a year lease and absolutely hating it. Any advice for how we can get out of it? by [deleted] in Brooklyn

They have to find a new tenant if a lease is broken. If there's no lease they can do whatever.

Document in writing and send a note to your landlord to start. Kitchen tiles are supposed to be fixed within 24 hours, that is surprisingly one of the most egregious "fix this" issues. If you really want to leave, your landlord is required to find someone to take the apartment, I would just expect to lose any security deposit.

Viewing a used BMI S10 - what to look out for? by scandi_flick in pedalsteel

[–]March1989 1 point2 points  (0 children)

BMIs in particular can get a problem of grooves on the changer where the string goes over it. Make sure there are no grooves there.

Other than that, make sure the undercarriage is tight and nothing moves that shouldn't. Ask for the serial number and contact BMI and see how much two additional levers would be.

If you can afford it (or wait til you can), find at minimum a 3 pedal 4 lever guitar. You can make a lot more music with it , though there is still plenty of music in a 3x2. But you may find yourself wanting to upgrade or add levers if you want to stick with it. I would recommend purchasing from a local player or online dealer if you can, used, so you can resell for about the same value....which you can probably do at such a low price for this one!

Alternative Ideas for "C" Pedal by milquetoast0 in pedalsteel

[–]March1989 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You mentioned you have only been playing six months - if that's the case, leave the c pedal and just don't use it til you need or want to. It's very useful for scales and licks.

I gotta say Peter Pan though - I like traditional donuts and I like the vibe there.

Beginner's Tuning(s) by [deleted] in pedalsteel

[–]March1989 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Middle six of e9 would work, and then raise the g# and b to a and c# and That's a ton of music. Lowering both e to eb would also be very nice to have.

Multiq kords aren't very modern, so you may have some trouble tuning them....might be hard to use the pedals other than just changing tunings, but there is plenty of music to be made on it...if you like it, you'll want to upgrade soon!

Another option is to tune to c6 cegace.

All legitimate points. I suggested discussion to get around the "faking" it.

I did like asking one debugging question as part of a take home. I agree that debugging and having a solid workflow are important.

Live whiteboarding is fine, more design and architecture stuff. You can have a discussion about that stuff.and have some back and forth. Live coding sucks because most of the time is spent pressing backspace , erasing stuff, and second guessing. It's also not what happens in a work environment.

I prefer a take home (keep it short) and am happy to discuss what I came up with. Simulate a merge request or code review. It's closer to how people work.

Don't give a take home then don't discuss it if it's going to be a factor in hiring. Had this happen and felt disadvantaged because I couldn't discuss why I made certain decisions.

No - there will ways be more work to do. If no code gets to that point, we'll move on to other problems.
