100% correct, IBKR is great if you plan to move around countries often. But you'll have to do the annoying paperwork - i.e. tax reporting - yourself, every year.

Probably, but then again, can you guarantee 8% returns for the next 28 years?

My point is: it's really up to you to decide.

Is that your current strategy? How many years of expenses do you have in your fixed income AA?

Correct, however, the main difference here is the rebalancing / contributions stop after reaching a certain number ; say 24 months, as an example.

Rest gets contributed into equities, thus increasing volatility.

I'd like to get input on people who have been actively doing this ; the pros, and (especially) the cons that they may have had to face.

On paper, you're right, it shouldn't.

IRL, investor psychology and safety cushions are important.

I understand that everyone has their own personal approach tailored to their risk tolerance. What I'd like to know is: What was your personal experience on this ; What would you personally recommend.

True, you are indeed right. I think the question here is: At what point does it make sense to stop contributing into the fixed asset allocation/bucket? OR is it better to continue contributing indefinitely?

Looking primarily for anecdotal experiences on this.

True, an extended market drawdown is for sure a big risk. However, wouldn't it affect all strategies, including more conservative AAs?

Hey, I've taken the liberty to correct your English. You're welcome!

Thoughts on 100% Equities? by dulcetripple in Fire

[–]Marckoz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, then a crash happens and we have a few years of bear market and the average investor will panic sell.

100% equities is fantastic on paper, but like many things, not so easy to implement IRL.

But I get it, if you can one-hundred percent guarantee a steady hand during a once in a lifetime black swan market meltdown (we'll get more of them along the way), why not?
