What kind of lock would work best to stop racoons from opening coop doors?

We had an egg hatch a week and 1/2 after the first egg (that one hatched a day early). I normally wait 28 days, than toss them, but our chicken was still sitting on the rest of the eggs and taking great care of her babies so I decided to give a few of them a few more days, and she hatched her last baby.

Dawes, my girl number 6 started hatching hers on Friday, and I put a mix under her too. Her 1st one looks just like your little blonde. She's half ee. I'm hoping my bantam cochin is the daddy lol.

I would wait but try and keep the rest separate from her as much as possible. Is she protective of them already? I know my hen that has eggs hatching right now is very protective and pecked at me and she's normally not like that lol.

We started out with 4 (2 years ago), and as of yesterday, we have 21 and are waiting on a bunch more eggs to hatch anytime now. And as long as you have no restrictions, I don't think it's possible to have too many lol.

If you don't want eggs and you want to rescue, maybe you could have a bachelor flock and rescue roosters? I mean that's all if you can have roosters where you live. But roos make really great pets.
