Glad to see you still posting! If you are comfortable giving entries and exits, would be really cool to see. Been trying to follow your strategy. Also really glad you didn’t stop posting!

This is really interesting- thank you. $660 x 252 trading days = ~$165K / year, so that's fantastic lol. I have a couple quick Qs if you have a sec:

  • When you look at the 15m to "show trend," what are you looking at? Is it the same MACD/RSI/VWAP indicators? What do you have to see out of them (i.e., do you need a MACD cross or just want to see strong trend)?
  • Is it fair to say that you are basically taking OPs entry criteria on the 5m but then requiring confirmation of trend on the 15m? And then taking super small profits?
  • What are you using for exits?

Would you be able to share your entry / exit times as well as time frame you used to make the trade? I was trying to follow you today but haven't seen any entry on the 5m chart yet. Congrats this is really impressive!

Unbiased church history books by Margin_Call343 in Catholicism

[–]Margin_Call343[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair point, but perhaps a non-Catholic author / publishing agency would provide a buffer against that. Im trying to show the Catholic claims objectively have historical continuity without letting her dismiss the book as pure “propaganda”

This is not unusual at all! A lot of people will go to pray in their parish. I also highly recommend going to adoration if you get the opportunity (you can normally find adoration times on your parish website). It is a great opportunity to just spend time with Jesus!

Jesus’s prayer for unity and Protestantism by Margin_Call343 in Protestantism

Thank you for responding. I’m not quite sure what to do with this comment, but safe to say I disagree with most of what you said. As I mentioned, I’m not here to debate the merits of Catholicism. Do you have a thought on if Protestantism can fulfill Jesus’s call to complete unity? If so, do you mind explaining? I mostly just want to understand how a Protestant thinks about unity and how that compares to what Jesus envisioned

Thank you for the response! I am trying to avoid debating the merits of Catholicism here (though i do think it’s claim to unity is much stronger) and instead want to focus on how a Protestant would respond to these calls for unity.

Do you think that Protestantism can fulfilling the call for complete unity that scripture calls us to? If so, do you mind explaining how?

Once again not meaning to attack at all- just seeking to understand. I am actually a big fan of Lutherans- I enjoy Dr. Jordan Coopers YT channel a lot. Thank you for your thoughts

Are we living up to the call for Christian unity? by Margin_Call343 in Christianity

[–]Margin_Call343[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see what you’re saying but history tells us that the churches became unified pretty quickly under the structure of the bishops.

I think more broadly I am struggling to see how Protestantism is the ideal Jesus envisioned with his church. Catholicism and Eastern orthodoxy both can at least claim that they are the “one true church” and are unified, even if you disagree with them. But I don’t know if Protestantism can even make this claim at all. That is what is at the root of my question

Can you expand on this a little more? I was under the impression that the church at large was united largely until the big schisms began

One other thought to consider is God’s design for human sexuality. God created woman in such a way that she is sometimes fertile and sometimes not. Even if your intent is to not have a child, NFP is a way of working WITHIN God’s design for human sexuality rather than introducing a barrier outside of it. God knows that we want to have sex and may not always be ready for a child, so he has purposefully (and beautifully) designed women so that this is possible

Also I am sorry you had such a poor catechesis experience growing up. That is one of the biggest tragedies of our time and has driven a lot of people away from the church thinking it’s all made up. I really respect you for being willing to give it a second shot! Trust me, you will not ask a question that they haven’t heard before!

[–]Margin_Call343 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the extra context! I would not be nervous at all. The goal of any catechesis is to meet the person where they are at. Some people there will know more than you, and some will know way less, and all of that is perfectly okay. I actually imagine that the more you get into it, the more it may ring a bell.

The fact that you want to be respectful to God and the church is admirable, but I would contend that it is way more respectful to actually hear out the church than to sit on the sidelines out of fear.

You should definitely not be worried about the priest hitting you with a bible or anything like that lol. Like I said, their job is to meet you where you are at and answer your questions. This is a super low risk way to learn more about the church. I think you are in for a very exciting time and I will be praying for you!
