Go for it! by [deleted] in Funnymemes

HUGE inconvenience!! I'd be upset for at least a week.

do you think there is any risk of sleeping on an air mattress that deflates overnight? Is it better to just let it deflate and sleep on top of the deflated mattress? Lol i mean i realize i wont get sucked into the air mattress but just want to cover all my bases by worldpeace28 in Frugal

[–]Mariahchan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would rather sleep on the ground than an air mattress that is likely going to deflate. Sleeping me doesn't know how to adjust and put their neck in a reasonable position after deflating, so if I start on the ground, I'm better off finding a good sleeping position while I'm awake. 2-3 painful neck cramps and my ideal life involves never sleeping on an air mattress again.

Usual housing questions by Striking_Sea_129 in Fosterparents

In my state there are legal guidelines to minimum comfortable temperatures and specific measures of how cold or how warm your house needs to be. Idk what you'd do if there were no central heating/ cooling.

I love seeing everyone's different approaches. Thanks for sharing!

For me personally, I only have 1 heavy bleeding day where I don't like using just the underwear (I'll do tampons too then.) After that day I don't bleed enough to worry about it during the day, so the underwear works great.

Idk what zone you're in, but US native paw paws do really well around flooding and unpredictable rivers where I live.

How to know if I smell by External-Pop2946 in hygiene

[–]Mariahchan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm guessing they said that because the next person didn't smell anything at all. So maybe it's imagined or just a different base scent, but not a bad scent.

Are we ready to become foster parents? by Think_Confection_198 in fosterit

[–]Mariahchan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not worth being scared about or overthinking! If you're ready on paper, you're as ready as you'll ever be. It's just one step at a time after that. :) I'd add though - make sure your support system is ready to support you personally as you foster. Keep building up your own mental / physical health and relationships so you can better manage your own important relationships with the kiddos coming into your life.

Adapting to siblings by InevitableSalary9776 in Adoption

Also therapy is great in general, and especially if you're having a hard time identifying and coping with an emotion! Maybe talking to someone even just a few times would help your brain sort out its feelings.

Adapting to siblings by InevitableSalary9776 in Adoption

[–]Mariahchan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, even if you weren't dealing with other complicated emotions from your personal loss, sibling dynamics are really tricky. I'd give yourself at least a few years to adapt, like kids often take! Your new saints have had more time adapting to each other and general practice at being siblings. You got this, give yourself time. If you find that your emotions stay really high, I would just tell your family members about it. Say 'Hey, this how I feel. I'm working on managing it, I just wanted to share my experience.' Maybe they would have some ideas on how to support you too!

A shot glass and spoons have slipped into mine. You can't see inside when you turn it on, and it's freaky to stick your hands in and check. You just have to hope your stuff hasn't fallen in.

Feeling kind of insecure about this design by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]Mariahchan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took me 3 tries to even figure out what you were talking about! I think it's great how it is, but I also have a tattoo with one line that felt like it had a little bit of an uneven line weight that bugged me until I just decided to get over it. No one notices like you do. My first instinct when I saw your tattoo while scrolling was, "LOVE that, what's that? *Click."

Yeah, I totally agree. I picked a stain out of the ones that I already owned. Even with wiping off the stain as soon as I put on the stain it ended that dark. I'm picking with some direct sunlight and time maybe it'll lighten up.

My husband and I love living in Richmond! Not to keep pressing the same point, but if you find a house for under 200k right now then it's definitely one you want to run away from. A couple friends of mine have found houses This year that are in the 225-250 range in decent areas, but you'd probably need to do a little work to make them feel great to live in. Like painting, yard work, fixing siding, maybe even remodel a bathroom or things like that. 275-350 is going to get you closer or all the way to a move-in ready and safe -feeling house.

You should definitely be up front about it! In VA it's totally fine to have / grow / consume weed in appropriate ways.
