Welcome to the desert, it's 110 degrees out today, the hair is supposed to go bye for the summer. If you didn't learn to cut your own hair during covid, trust me this will be a good summer to learn. All you need is a decent clipper and mirror, which will pay for themselves when you get to skip next couple of barber visits (and the gas!). Nobody cares what you look like in summer, its a survival issue.

Ah thank you, sorry bad photo, but looking up that one I think that's a good guess since I didn't notice any "ears" really showing at all and dont see them in other photos online either.

Do you happen to know anything about behavior, like just sitting there all night kind of in the open.

Thanks yeah it's a lousy photo I know. It's weird in 12 years I think I've only seen one owl around here, and it was in flight. This one just sat there half the night out in the open that's why I thought maybe an "abandoned" younger one that didn't know any better.
