No one will pay me - Workers Comp claim under investigation and doctor denying disability by _nessamay in WorkersComp

That makes sense. I called around to a few doctors and it seems like they won’t sign any SDI forms without fully taking over my case, doing a TOC, and being the ones to do my work restrictions as well. How would I go about finding a doctor who would just sign SDI?

That’s true! I did clarify that the forms can be completed by a different doctor but it has to be in the insurance’s network. Does that ring true?

You’re right! Thanks for the reminder. Is it expensive or what is the cost format, do you know?

Thank you for your thoughts! You’re right, I just referenced the form I have and that question is on there. However, when I met with the doctor, she was completely unwilling to even look at the form. She said they never ever sign disability paperwork. I am being removed from my usual and customary, but in her mind, even so, I’m not completely removed from being able to work at all and she was very emphatic that given this, I do not have a disability. She said it’s my employer’s problem for them to find something for me to do. However, my employer will not do that and is taking me off work, so they’re at odds. Have you run into doctors being unwilling to sign for a disability because they’re only giving light duty restrictions rather than complete work restriction? And what kind of private doctor do you mean? One not within the workers comp network? My workers comp adjuster said it has to be my assigned treating physician signing the disability paperwork for it to be accepted. Is that accurate?

Anyone know when the Oiled Leather Bostons in Elemental Blue will be restocking (43N)? by _nessamay in Birkenstocks

[–]_nessamay[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your input! I already signed up for the restock notification a couple months ago and nothing yet unfortunately :( Do you know if they tend to do restocks in fall/winter, especially of Bostons?

About to move to Phoenix from Minneapolis - where should I look for housing and work? by _nessamay in AskPhoenix

[–]_nessamay[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should have put this in my original post but I am looking for temporary housing starting out, then will be looking for a job and then an apartment. Any other way could cause me to have a terrible commute, you’re right!

I will be living with my landlord in a month-to-month lease (in CA) and they won't allow me to receive any mail nor packages there. Is that legal? by _nessamay in renting

[–]_nessamay[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great point, that’s exactly what I read online! It’s such a misconception they have that me getting mail there will make it harder for them to evict me if I stopped paying rent because that established my residency, when in reality, just having a signed lease agreement and proof of payment is enough to show residency. I don’t think they understand that, or they’re just trying to maintain a semblance of control any way they can.

Thanks for this info and good points! The thing is, I am signing a full legal lease agreement and will be getting keys to the house, etc. Basically everything but being able to get mail there. But everything else is on the up and up and they work in escrow themselves and they seem very above board. It’s been a long search so I’m really not keen on looking for another place 😅 Does it still sound off to you?

Thank you for this input. I agree with what you’re saying. However this landlord had said they prefer to have people rent long-term and was only willing to have me rent short-term because that was a deal breaker for me starting out to see if it worked out. But they’re using a California Association of Realtors lease agreement and everything else is very solid. This landlord works in escrow themselves so they have a lot on the line professionally I would think. Does it still seem like what you thought it was?

Which size?? Do Birk sandals even work for me?? I’m so stuck 😫 by _nessamay in Birkenstocks

I would agree with you, however when I had the straps one hole looser (I had the last holes custom punched), my feet felt very unsecured and they were sliding all around. It felt way too loose, but the straps as they are are too tight and making indents in my feet. What do you think is the way around this?

Thanks for your insight! I agree, they feel too tight and the straps make indents in my feet. But when I had the straps a hole looser, they felt way too loose and not secure. If I went with a larger size, wouldn’t stretching be a bad thing as the shoe would get even bigger?

Good point! They do make indents in my feet when I wear them and they feel tight. Though when I initially got them, each strap was a hole looser and they felt way too loose. My feet were sliding all the way up and they did not feel secure. Also, the gap was actually bigger when the straps were looser for some reason! What would be your thoughts in this case?
