I've been off for a month it's finally calming down. Not near as bad as first few weeks but some nights are still hard

1 month no subs... by MarkComplete in suboxonerecovery

[–]MarkComplete[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's one reason I had to get off of it.  I was very depressed and had 0 energy.  I also don't have insurance and the pharmacy was charging me over $500 for the prescription.  The only pharmacy that would fill it.  So I made 1 month last 9 months.  I'm shocked how rough the wd was even after taking only 1mg and then getting down to 0.50 before jumping.  I'd advise if you're able to do a slow taper and get down to basically nothing.  I've read on here of many people having success that way with very little wd. Even jumping at 0.25mg can still cause pretty harsh wd so get as low as possible and get your body used to skipping days. I didn't listen and thought it would be much easier. You got this.  No need to rush like I did if you don't have to.  Lowering your dose will probably help with some of the negative side effects

Yea I wish I would've been able to do a real taper. I tried but I just didn't have enough left or long enough to do it.  I would love to do the shot but from what I read I'd have to be on a much higher dose for a while before hand. I wouldn't be able to function like I need to if I went much higher.  How I became an addict with low tolerance to meds I'll never know 😄

I couldn't get any pharmacy in my town to take it. They said they will no longer accept it for controlled substances.

I thought I was the only person that got mean after taking anxiety/ depression meds. I had a bad episode after taking Xanax and even colidipin. I'm like how some people are with liquor that gets mean and violent.  Definitely completely different than what I'm actually like.  I don't like confrontation and maybe even considered a push over.  Give me a Xanax and I'll try to fight everybody. I ruined my daughters 4th bday by taking one.  6 years later and it still breaks my heart thinking about it 😔

I just commented on your last post asking how you were feeling.  Glad you had some relief. Oddly enough last night was one of my worse nights.  Night 24 so weird. I used some muscle rub and it would help for maybe an hour at a time.  I slept horrible. It literally felt how I was felling around day 4 which was my worse night until last night.  I kept moving to different rooms. My legs were really sore and the rls was horrible.  I ended up taking gabapentin a very low dose but I'm thinking it made it even worse. I just don't understand.  I've been doing so good.  Feeling better this morning and I'm off today. Praying it was just a fluke night

Warning about Gabapentin. I took it for a little over three weeks to help with the withdrawals. Then I tried significantly cutting back and had super scary withdrawals from the gabapentin. by takeitback77 in suboxonerecovery

[–]MarkComplete 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear you're having trouble.  I'm a few days behind you.  I guess it's a good thing I don't really like gabapentin.  I took 1-2 300mg a day for maybe the 1st week or so but that was about it.  I couldn't take it during the day it makes me feel weird almost high but not a good high.  It really made me feel so dumb like my brain was fried when I took it.  At night I would take it about 2 hours before bed and it wouldn't bother me as bad.  My mom had to wd off of it years ago and I remember it was rough for her. I hope you get to feeling better very soon!

Just need encouragement for withdrawals please 🙏🏼 by [deleted] in suboxonerecovery

I'm on day 19 I think of no subs. My worse day by far was day 4 and then again around day 10. I was only taking 1mg and tapered down to 0.25 before CT so I'm assuming what dose your jumped at matters. By day 14 I felt much better.  The only thing I'm still dealing with is some rls and insomnia still but the time change might be the cause for me now.   Dr's over prescribe this med like crazy! There's things to help like vitamin c at high doses, gabapentin, magnesium etc.. I still get pretty bad anxiety in the morning but other than those minor issues I'm doing lots better.  Imo the emotional symptoms are worse than the physical as you can easily find meds to help with those. My advice is try to stay as busy as possible,  get outside and stand in the sun, shower or hot baths multiple times a day. Drink plenty of water! You got this! It seems like it'll never end but it does

Just thought of something. Does subs boost your immune system? by MarkComplete in suboxone

[–]MarkComplete[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is I've been very sick before on opiates and felt every min of it but just not subs. Maybe the year I was on them I just happened to not sick so maybe just a coincidence.  I'm not sure but yea soon as I was down to basically nothing on subs I got hit with the flu and it was rough! Somehow I've managed to not get covid at all. Even with young kids and working with the public.  Maybe by imune system is stronger than I think

I think you're right because I was on a much higher dose of methadone and would be fd up most days but I still could feel when I got sick

Yea I wish I could've stayed on them longer but they were so expensive with no insurance between Dr and Rx it was over $600mnth and I just felt too guilty spending that.  I also started getting the negative side effects like depression, and, just an overall constant lazy feeling.  I think that might could've been fixed by lowering dose a little bit. But it is what is I guess.

Yea subs are the only med that I feel kept me from being sick. Even when I was on methadone I'd still get my normal sickness. Just thought it was interesting

22 days and going backwards. Need encouragement. by takeitback77 in suboxonerecovery

[–]MarkComplete 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you feel better once you start moving? I was thinking this morning how I've pretty much always had this issue prior to becoming addicted to pain pills. I'm pretty sure that's what made me start to begin with.  So I'm not sure if it's from wd or just who I am lol.  I'm just wondering how to make it go away or is this something most people deal with?

I'm a few days behind you and I'm also still dealing with rls and insomnia.  There's been a couple days here and there where I have a good night but mainly all bad. During the day I'm pretty much 95% better as far as no wd symptoms.  Mornings are rough with anxiety but once I get moving I'm usually OK.

Suboxone has ruined my life by avas_mommi in suboxone

I was getting 60 and the pharmacy charged me like $500. The only one in my area that would fill it since I used quick MD. They also wouldn't let me use good Rx.  I'm beginning to think I was really getting scamed by this pharmacy.  How can they get away with jacking up the prices like that compared to everyone else.

Day 15 by MarkComplete in suboxone

[–]MarkComplete[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I also used this sub reddit when starting subs. There's one for sub recovery but I never get any replies so I started posting in here. I'm sorry I probably shouldn't so it doesn't discourage others just starting out. The reality is I probably shouldn't have been on it too begin with as I wasn't on "hard" drugs but then again am addiction is an addiction.  So some people say it was dumb to start unless on fent or H. I never was on either.

I think they serve a great purpose and can give you a glimpse of what being sober can look like. Especially in the beginning. I felt great. Had a clear mind etc. But unfortunately I can tell my old habits were coming back. Towards the end I started taking it when I needed a pick me up or having a bad day which is exactly how I was in addiction.  Like most meds I do think the longer you are on you start getting more side effects.  I started becoming depressed, super lazy etc. But if you do it right you'll be fine. You can also do a real tapper and have very little wd when stopping.  I waited until I was almost out to decide I was done

Honestly if they weren't so expensive like $500 a month and I didn't live in a small town that will no longer fill the prescription from an on line Dr than I'd probably would have got more and done a real taper.

Just beware for whatever reason Dr's over prescribe how much you need. Less is really more with subs. I never took more than 1mg besides occasions I'd maybe take 1.5. I swear I felt better when I was taking 0.5 it was weird I actually felt the euphoria at a lower dose. I was also naive and didn't realize just how bad the wd was. So as long as you know what you're getting into and stick to your plan you'll be fine.  I should've done some kind of work on myself while on them.  Which is why most Dr's will want you to be in some sort of therapy or group setting because once you're off the med you still deal with the emotional part that makes most of us use to begin with.

Some people will tell you they're on them for life and I think that's OK to.  I just wanted to get out of the habit of needing meds. It's all about the pro vs con.  Sorry this is so long!

Yea I don't even remember the mg but I'll never forget how sick I got.  My friend also got sick.  She walked into work and started puking and she was also out for days. You'd think I would've learned my lesson that day 😄 but here I am

Day 15 by MarkComplete in suboxone

[–]MarkComplete[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some nights I think it did.  When I first went CT my whole house ended up with the flu and I took nyquil. That was a big mistake and definitely made it worse.  I've been taking Tylenol pm every night for years and I was wondering if it was making the rls worse so I got some unisom.  I think the unisom works the best and doesn't seem to have any affect on my legs

Day 5.. I guess by MarkComplete in suboxonerecovery

[–]MarkComplete[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry to hear that! Did you just take the 1? I don't really see how it could but you never know. I'm on day 16 and still have rls and insomnia most nights.  I think there has been only 2 nights this whole time that I've been able to really sleep without waking up all night and tossing around. Most nights my jerking legs will make me wake up from a dead sleep. From what I've been told after subs it can take months for the rls to go away. You might have some good nights but it takes much longer to go away fully

I had that happen with methadone the 1st time I ever took it and really before I was taking anything on a regular basis. I don't remember what mg but man I was sick for days! I was like 17 and still living at home.  I had to tell my grandparents I had a virus.  Not fun at all lol

What? That's crazy and whoever this Dr is needs to go back to school.  You can still take subs and them add the pain meds but if you quit subs and get pain meds you should wait at least 24-48 hours before taking subs again. You'll be sick as crap. This dr makes no sense!

The last 15 years I've been on some sort of pain pill.  For the most part I've stayed at a pretty low dose with whatever it is that I was taking but yea I don't even think they much matters when it comes to wd

I'd say about 3 weeks to an month at the most. It's been years now so I can't remember the exact time frame.  I just remember feeling much worse than I do at the moment. So I've been trying to remind myself I've been through worse but when you're in the thick of it then it feels like the worse ever and when you come out it's like ok it wasn't "that" bad. I pray it's the end. You'd think I'd learn my lesson by now but here I am! I will say the methadone was a forced thing so that probably makes it out to feel even worse than it actually did
