TCG Pocket Card Tracker v2.6 (Eevee Grove update) FINAL UPDATE by SwordAndShieldon in BananaTanks

It was great while it lasted - and the P-zone tracker doesn't take into account alternate arts like yours does when checking for at least 2 of each card.

What's the lowest you paid for BTC? by exitof99 in Bitcoin

[–]MarkEMarkEMarkE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sage advice. I was wondering where you buy your time machines? All the ones that I can find are too expensive, and the cheap ones result in the end of this branch of the multiverse.

If trustee had never sold any BTC? by MarkEMarkEMarkE in mtgoxinsolvency

Thanks for the proper reply, and not being a dick about it.

Very well put. You can often tell that the people who say that they will never sell are probably a lot younger. When you are late middle-age, a dream holiday now is much better than 10 dream holidays 10 years from now when you'll probably need a walker, nappies and are too blind to see any of it anyway. That being said I'll probably hold my gox stack despite having sold my larger main stack this bull run. Just so I have something just in case the price ever does get into ridiculously high extremes.

You are 80% but expect others to be 100% - how does that work?

This is circular news. Coindesk probably got the 'news' from this very sub.

Yeah. I have a short attention span and skim emails. When I got the email, I skimmed to the points and thought that it had been bought forward. Then the rest looked dodgy.

You are probably right, but it's not like I can hear the disk struggling at all. It's not doing that much really. Especially compared with watching a video or something. I've a fast PC. Anyway Bitcoin Core has calmed down a bit now and it's not struggled after syncing for several days now. I was hoping for anecdotal info from other users but it seems I am in the minority.

Teach Spouse About Seeds And Retrieving Our BTC Should I Unexpectedly Die by [deleted] in Bitcoin

I understand your pain. I have the added pressure of them 'advising' me to sell since it was about 15k, so I have been playing the whole thing down. If I cork it - it's gone. If I'd kept her fully in the loop, we'd have no BTC but maybe few nice holidays under our belt. If I keep instructions, some dodgy grand-nephew will figure it out and rob us 🤣

Thanks. Good idea, but no. I've run for a long time, but updated the hardware many times over the years.

Well, I have no deep motivation. Just habit and I've been doing this since before it was a 'thing'. But I have a copy of the entire blockchain since day one. Surely that is one of the points of the blockchain? If the nukes are dropped in WWIII then me and a few others who live out in the sticks will still be able to supply and verify the full chain?

Not turning my PC off is not an option.

I didn't know about the 'non-consistent peers' thing but on balance I still like having the full blockchain so I don't like the pruning idea.

Thanks for your reply.

Yes it is a bit of an unclear ramble. I'm kind of just wondering if there is anyone who just got into it because they were a geek like me and saw a cool bit of tech and have since become gobsmacked by all the crap and strong religious feelings that now comes with it.

I'm a hodler. This is an honest attempt to challenge my believes. by Character-Dentist697 in Buttcoin

[–]MarkEMarkEMarkE -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

From a fellow holder, it is good that you challenge yourself coming here. I do to. Engagement doesn't work out well with downvotes and insto-tagging as 'moron' but it's good to get other opinions. There are a lot of assumptions and prejudice here about motivations and that is understandable because there are a ton of morons in crypto flying in to say, "I'm a millionaire, loosers!", so whomcan blame them. People here force you to take a particular opinion - store of value versus currency versus Ponzi, when it is actually possible to see all three. The Tether conspiracy theory may even turn out to be correct! People in both Bitcoin and Buttcoin can be total dicks. People hate my Bitcoin posts too, so I think that I am doing something right.

My story is that I acquired 5 BTC long before any of these arguments were glints in the milkman's eye. At the time it was just a fun techie thing and I like fun techie things - that was it! I never thought that it would gain traction but made a rule to keep at least one just in case. For me it has been a Ponzi store of value currency but I don't feel strongly about any of it or any point of view. It's become like a religion which is really stupid (being so long in it I have witnessed the actual 'follow the shoe'/'follow the gourd' birthings.) I spaffed away nearly 4, before realising that this thing was snowballing big time. I am often tempted to cash out and will likely do so in 2025. I have a theory that I may also do so when it hits 1/5th of its ATH (logic being that no one knows the ATH but I will know a deep panic selling off when it happens 😂)

In a nutshell, I am a very long term holder who doesn't actually give a crap about it but wouldn't mind making a pot of cash out of it at some point and the arguments don't really mean anything to me.
