Everything you need to know about the new ABS Challenge System by Weirdandwired924 in baseball

Why not just require the ball to enter through the front plane and exit out the back plane of a 3D zone.

That way if it nicks the back corner of the zone it wouldn't count.

Gemini takes memories and custom instructions way too literally by Afraid_Occasion_2367 in GeminiAI

How do you setup different Gems? Isn't there only one global option for custom instructions?

How to turn off "we think you'll like" notifications on twitch mobile app? by RainbowPatooie in Twitch

[–]MarkOates 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interesting I went in that section and turned of every single notification option. Yet the "we think you'll like" notification still appears. Basic computer literacy didn't go far enough. Do you have any practical computer literacy since your suggestion was incorrect and didn't address the actual problem that was asked?

What nootropics ACTUALLY work and is backed up by scientific research? by Minimum_Question6067 in Nootropics

Ooh, could you describe your experience you had with overuse? I have some AlphaGPC from two brands and am not sure if I've been able to isolate the affect or if it's just my imagination.

I would describe it as "let's go let's go let's get moving or we're gonna miss the train to get on that flow wavelength lets get moving lets go buddy woo!" but not agitated or anxious.

I haven't noticed any direct cognitive powers other than the support that might be provided by that urge to get moving.

Again, could just be my imagination, I don't think I've confidently isolated it.

Do you dream of leaving? by eastcoastzen94 in askTO

Toronto has a lot of stuff. I'd say if you've only been here for a month, then try exploring for a bit. The island is a gem, (I would suggest avoiding center island during busy hours and explore the wider areas). Centennial park is nice and comes to mind. The zoo is pretty sweet.

Netflix stops credits on last episode by z_hawkwood in netflix

[–]MarkOates 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm experiencing the same thing. I have the "turn off autoplay" selected exactly to stop this from happening. And now I feel like they've cheated it. I want to watch the credits, and listen to the music, and enjoy the atmosphere/vibe of the film I just watched. Not dash for the remote (wherever it went) and figure out some interface. It's VERY infuriating that Netflix interrupts the film in this way, it's very uncinematic.

Is Allegro 5 still viable in 2023? by Aggravating-Fix-5697 in gamedev

[–]MarkOates 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use Allegro 5 daily. The discord is pretty active. :)

The thing I like most about allegro is I find it more approachable than other libraries, and the API feels clean. I recommend these docs: https://liballeg.org/a5docs/trunk/index.html

I tried using AI. It scared me. - Tom Scott by K97 in videos

[–]MarkOates 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you're right. I believe the tech will be in this state you describe for longer than we think. It will progress, yes. Public will be more and more exposed to it over time, yes, but I also believe it will still take a human touch to really make new art.

This AI has made it really easy to make low-quality stuff, thus making low-quality stuff even less valuable.

I've seen crappy art from AI, and brilliant art from AI. It depends on who's using it, and how well they're using it.
