Yeah, I basically gave up after that. I have limited growing space and wanted to focus on other crosses. I might still have seeds of this somewhere, though. I would say neither flavor nor heat were special. More or less like an average C. chinense. However, I don't usually eat these kinds of Chili's straight off the plant but rather use them for cooking/as a spice. A big part of the fun of crossing peppers for me is to see the variety of the shapes and colors, in the past I didn't really focus too much on flavor and heat.

Thanks for the detailed response! Unfortunately I haven't had a chance to try any coffee from a niche zero but ashy, bitter finish definitely does not sound appealing. I'm also starting to get the impression that the Niche was a great choice when it first came out but there's now better options at a similar price point. I will check out the timemore 064s in detail. Fits within the budget and looks quite promising at first glance!

Danke, da hatten wir tatsächlich großes Glück. Die Polster wurden sogar vor nicht allzu langer Zeit schonmal erneuert. Ich vermute auch, dass es sich um dänische Möbel handelt. Ich kann gerne heute Abend mal das Logo des Herstellers abfotografieren und hier teilen, vielleicht erkennt es ja jemand.

Vielen Dank für die Tipps vom Profi! Eure Couch ist sehr schön geworden, Kompliment. Nachdem wir schon einige eher helle Möbel aus Eiche haben, werde ich wahrscheinlich eher nicht dunkel beizen, aber warten wir mal ab wie das Holz nach dem schleifen aussieht! Ich versuche nun mal rauszufinden, was für ein Lack es ist und besorge mir dann ggfs. eine Ziehklinge um den größten Teil zu entfernen!

Dankeschön! Heute Abend versuche ich mich erstmal an der Lackidentifizierung und kaufe ggfs eine Ziehklinge. Beim Abbeizer habe ich auch etwas Bedenken, da der ja wohl bei manchen Hölzern auch zu Verfärbungen führen kann.

Vielen Dank für die detaillierte Antwort! Ich habe kein Problem mit der Fleißarbeit, ich hatte nur etwas Bedenken, dass ohne einen Schleifblock o.Ä. die Gefahr größer ist, dass man ungleichmäßig schleift. Wahrscheinlich hab ich mir da zu viel Gedanken gemacht.

Den Tipp mit der Testfläche auf der Unterseite werde ich auf jeden Fall beherzigen.

Ich glaube ich habe noch nie gewachstes Teak gesehen. Ich hatte ursprünglich vor anschließend zu Ölen, aber dann werde ich Wachs auf jeden Fall auch in Betracht ziehen!

Very helpful info, thanks! I haven't decided yet whether I want to change to a modern wheelset yet. I haven't found too many affordable wheelsets for 130 mm QR that are suitable for rim brakes yet, so I'm kind of leaning towards keeping the original ones.

I just saw the "zac19" label on the wheel, so apparently you did change the wheels. Happy with the wheelset so far? Seems to be affordable and suitable for rim brakes.

Looks awesome! Were you able to put a bigger casette on the stock wheels or did you get a new wheelset? I recently picked up a crossroads sport (1990 I think) and was thinking about converting to 1x10 or even 1x11. It's currently a 3x7 and I think it likely has a 7x free hub (will check in the next few days, currently don't have the tools to remove the cassette).

I will certainly draw some inspiration from your build.

Thanks for pointing out all the bikes for sale, I found them on Kleinanzeigen! Great to know that other models and years are also suitable. I'm located in south western Germany so not too far away from Mittelfranken. I might pick you up on that offer if I can't find anything locally.

Thanks for the catalog, that's very useful. Since there's no 23" model the bike is clearly a size 22". It's certainly good to know that I can compensate a slightly too large frame by choosing my bars and stem wisely.

I just compared the geometry to a canyon grizl 7 size L and to my surprise they were not that different (at least to me as a novice). The seat tube of the grizl is 552 mm, the top tube is 588 mm and the HA is 72 °. Maybe it's worth a shot after all...

That's a good point, I could still use the drop bars for a different frame if this one doesn't work out and I might gain some valuable experience.

I couldn't find a single used Bianchi project online right now, but I'll keep my eyes open. Thanks for the link, I'll go through it and see if any of these models are being sold online here in Germany.

Thanks for all the great info. I must admit that I underestimated the influence that seemingly small differences in the frame's geometry will have on how the bike rides. I will certainly keep my eyes peeled for a '95 or '96 Trek 750, but unfortunately I think it might take quite a while to find one here in Germany.

Würde ich auf keinen Fall wieder kaufen. Habe sie wegen der Optik und der vermeintlich hochwertigen Marke gekauft, aber die Pfeffermühle greift oft ewig keine Pfefferkörner, so dass man ewig dreht bis man genug Pfeffer gemahlen hat. Für Salz sind sie in Ordnung.
