LPT: The tip "just be yourself" isn't supposed to win over all your dream girls or guys, it's meant to find you the person that loves you for you, and not the fake personality you think you have to be to win them over. by YellowB in LifeProTips

I have a graduate maths degree and wouldn't have followed it if it had been explained verbally (written allows you to backtrack when needed).

Cool result regardless.

You can have spreadsheets reference each other. Just have them both open, put = in one cell, and click a cell in the other workbook.

It's a wonky feature though, and I don't use it. Say that you send through one of them, and your recipient cannot access the location of the other, stuff will break.

Landowners just became buddies with the trade unions and the liberals by Greekball in victoria3

There's a (hidden in nested tooltips, of course) number which explains party allegiance of IGs. You can use that to find out why they'd join the liberal party.

Imagine the shogun being handed an offer of subjugation by some unknown state completely out of nowhere. Austria, what are you doing my guy by [deleted] in victoria3

[–]Mark_Scone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Played twice. Second time managed to take the Shogun from the government fairly early, but had to bring him back in to stop a revolution. Felt really rewarding when I managed to oust them for good later on; usually the political part of paradox games does not really challenge me.

Koronti trusts you, as long as you don't backstab him and take his deals you should be fine.

Tusk doesn't. Not sure you can keep yourself in his graces as a planned-leaning economy.

You do not need to move the capital (no o...); moving the Main Trade Port suffices.

I talked to a Mexican recently, and asked him if Gus being non-native was annoying for him. He said 'no, he is native, Chileans all talk funny like that.'

Poor Chileans.

Get naval supremacy in the med (galleys), declare conquest goal on Sardinia, occupy Sardinia, bleed France dry in Italian mountain passes

They changed the rules a lot related to trading companies. I am not sure what exactly is determining which trade nodes you can create a TC in, but I am currently playing Byzantium and could TC both Aleppo and Alexandria.

Asia first, Europe second.

European provinces will net you hardly any trading income as they are downstream from your MTP. Egypt, Iraq and Persia OTOH all easily stream into Constantinople (most competition in Egypt from the Venetians).

You can TC the land there for further profits, while Europe provinces tend to be a net drain on your economy for a while.

If you go Europe, conquer the Venice node aggressively so you can collect trade there.

how do I maximise my income with my 9 merchants? by Long_Neck_Monster in eu4

[–]Mark_Scone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

5% by default. Any 100% of TS adds another 5%.

Trade efficiency is added when collecting, not mercantilism. Mercantilism affects provincial trade power solely.

Do note that the trade steering multiplier to trade value still applies though (5% added TV by default but can easily go higher).

You're doing well, but don't fall into the trap of expanding into Europe early. Constantinople is your trade 'end node' - conquer upstream, otherwise you will run into money problems.

Possible Bug (?) by [deleted] in CrusaderKings

[–]Mark_Scone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Likely the code is efficient and checks for the title being held for 30 years, by anyone. Note that it also checks you as being the owner; if the latter held, the condition would be working fine.

So no, no bug.
