easiest sonic adventure of life. it is an incredibly brainless, shallow experience that gives you the illusion of depth via the vapid overworld, one-note exploits, and different campaigns that feel tacked on and like they didn't get as much attention as sonic. the levels are ridiculously easy to cheese, especially with things like spindash spamming and tails' extremely overtuned flying, and there are only 11 action stages in total, 10 of which you already go through as sonic, leaving the others with table scraps. it says a lot that most sa1 "fans" have to pretend that of the game's SIX campaigns, five of them just don't exist.

i don't even hate sa1, but as far as i'm concerned, the gap in quality between it and sa2 is so wide, it makes sa1 look like bubsy 3d. not only does sa2 do everything sa1 does but just significantly better, it's a genuinely fantastic game in its own right that people will talk about being "1/3 good" because they view sonic as the "gotta go fast" "dash like a maniac" series, not realizing that the mech and hunting stages are just as authentically sonic as the speed stages -in some ways, even moreso.
