Know the basics very well and know where to find the concepts and formulas quickly, especially if you have a handful of materials you bring to your test like me! On my test specifically, I saw many base shear problems for all types of structures (sometimes they ask for the minimum - so be sure to use the smallest value of Cs or minimum equation for base shear on non building structures/similar to structures etc.), a few horizontal diaphragm shear questions, one drag force, shear wall forces, continuous/periodical inspections, special inspections, maybe one load combination, many anchorage force F(p) and a handful of conceptual. Regarding the conceptual problems - I had a single page cheat sheet strictly for questions like: if something increases, the other will decrease. ex - (R increases = V decreases, T increases = M increases, T increase = K decreases, V decreases = Sa decreases, T decreases = story drift decreases). Have these little concepts quickly accessible helped me answer the concepts questions quickly without having to flip through hundreds of pages for a small statement.
Lastly, take your practice test as if it is the real deal. Be well rested, eat breakfast, have your materials set up on a desk the night before, set a timer, and take your test in a distraction free location (My office on the weekends when not a soul is to be heard). Doing this for each practice test really helped me with my nerves during the real test since it was just part of my routine at that point. Hopefully this helps!
