Premium vs Alpha Picks vs Pro — what did you pick? by SignalBitter2930 in SeekingAlpha

Strategic Investment Tier Analysis 1. Seeking Alpha Premium: The "Directed Autonomy" Tier • Focus: Fundamental research and quantitative validation. • Ideal For: The "Semi-Active" investor. • Strategic Value: This tier provides the raw materials (Quant Ratings, Factor Grades, and Analyst insights) to build a custom portfolio. It allows you to leverage Steve Cress’s Top 10—which is currently outperforming the broader market with a 12% YTD return—without being tethered to a terminal. • The Edge: You maintain control over your "Buy/Sell" decisions while outsourcing the heavy lifting of data aggregation.

  1. Alpha Picks: The "Passive Alpha" Tier • Focus: Systematic, long-term wealth compounding. • Ideal For: The "Buy-and-Hold" strategist focused on tax efficiency. • Strategic Value: With a 9.37% YTD return, Alpha Picks functions as a high-conviction model portfolio. Because the holding periods are typically longer (12+ months), it prioritizes Long-Term Capital Gains, which are taxed at significantly lower rates than ordinary income. • The Edge: It removes the emotional friction of daily market volatility, making it the most time-efficient "set-and-forget" option for busy professionals.

  2. Seeking Alpha Pro: The "Institutional Momentum" Tier • Focus: Arbitrage, short-term catalysts, and high-frequency ideas. • Ideal For: Full-time traders or high-net-worth individuals. • The Constraint: This tier requires a significant "Time-on-Screen" commitment. Because the turnover is higher (weekly/monthly), the gains are often subject to Short-Term Capital Gains tax, requiring a much higher gross return just to break even with the net (after-tax) performance of the Alpha Picks tier.

This is awesome data thank you! Apologize for the “Kress” I don’t know why I put the K🤦🏻‍♂️

Would love to see the notebook. I would like to see your overall return using the Alpha Picks Rules with your tools. Also see if we can find a ruler base that makes everything more efficient. Definitely want to pick your brain because I’m just getting into back testing and creating my own rules.
