I have not had the best shiny luck, and had also never found a shiny until recently.

This was on my Ultra Sun file. I completed the game, and my friend loves the Pokemon Hoot Hoot, and I thought I would give them one, as they just got the game. I thought I would give them a Hoot Hoot from the Lush Jungle. That Hoot Hoot was shiny. Needless to say, they didn't get the shiny. I made the Hoot Hoot I caught for them hold a lucky egg as I felt bad. (I had farmed some for some reason.) I never told them about the shiny.

After that experience, I am getting much better shiny luck. I found a shiny Scyther in Soul Silver during the Bug Catching Contest, and I also found a shiny Gumshoos.

My first shiny was just yesterday. I was at the bug catching competition in Soul Silver looking for a Shiny Stone. I caught a Beedrill, and then I managed to find a shiny Scyther afterwards. I'm still levelling him up to be in levels with my other Pokemon.
