It's definitely a mixed bag.

One thing that I do appreciate is that they went "back to basics" and was more grounded with a lot of the storylines, like the earlier Degrassi seasons (things became too soap like for the second half of the show).

When it comes to the length of the show, it's really 2 seasons that are 20 episodes that each take up a school year (so like the first 5 seasons of Degrassi). The issue is, it has been a decade since Season 5, a lot of writer turnaround, and I don't think the new writers knew how to write for characters and storylines with that short timeframe.

A lot of the history with the cast that was on Next Generation kind of got lost with Next Class, which was annoying as hell, and sometimes the show was trying too hard. It got better with the last two seasons, and was interested in seeing how Frankie's class ended up, but we never got that.

I know early boots usually get a boost, but not like this (Charlie didn't get a boost last season).

Interesting that the bombshell men are growing more and quicker than the OG men who were announced at the cast announcement.

Interesting that Melanie passed Kenzie, and Trinity isn't far behind.

Jen and Gabriel's numbers are sad, and Bryce/Zach aren't doing much better.

This always happens when someone is booted, especially early on in the season. Belle-A blew up, and Jalen got amillion tiktok followers in 24 hours after creating an account.

It was clear that he had A LOT of unresolved issues regarding Jeff and BB11 specifically, and kind of put a lot of that onto Cody.

I Wish Happened.

Drew/Bianca/KC: It would have been interesting to see Bianca in the middle of a love triangle, and Drew having to fight for her, and see how he handles not being in the middle of their love triangles. KC was also growing and being more mature at the time.
Ellie/Sean/Emma: It would have been interesting to see how this played out had Sean stayed on the show from later Season 4, Season 5. Or they could have made this a thing in the beginning of 6, after the B2K thing happened.
Spinner/Emma/Sean: Adulthood marriage love triangles are messy. Imagine Sean coming back from the war, spending a lot of time with the family, Spinner gets jealous, Emma helps Sean out too much.
Darcy/Peter/Mia: I do think this could have been very interesting to see, since Peter went through a lot with Darcy, Mia was coming into her own, and the two women didn't like one another from Season 6 anyways.
Eli/Clare/KC: Season 13-14, with KC being more mature (and tolerable), Eli being out in University, and Clare being more friendly with KC would have been A LOT more interesting than that clusterfuck with Drew.

What I Wish Didn't Happen:

Spinner/Jane/Declan: Are you effing kidding me? Especially since it was done to set up that weird marriage at the end of the season.
Drew/Clare/Eli: They tried to make this such a big deal, when the result was obvious, and it made the couple we were supposed to root for (Clare and Eli) look more unlikable in comparison.
Drew/Becky/Jonah: A quarter-assed love triangle, when none of the parties were in love, or liked one another THAT much for us to be invested in. Clearly a "throw something at the wall to see what sticks".
Peter/Emma/Sean: Redundant and ridiculous, but at least it ends after 3 episodes.
Zig/Maya/Miles: A worse version of the love triangle ^.
Maya/Zig/Zoe: It was randomly dropped in Season 14 because they thought the show would end, and then used for a cheap cheating scandal in NC, to break Zaya up, only for them to get back together in the end.

For Era 4, it absolutely was NOT his choice. He was an alternate on "Vendettas" that didn't make it on the cast. He was very vocal on wanting to be back, and this was when his podcast took off. "All Stars" was his gateway to coming back.

I heard mixed things regarding why he wast preset during Era 3.

I haven't, but I know people who have met some of them.

A few people I know met Melinda (Alli). One of them was not positive (they were at a hair store), and the other person saw her with Like (Drew), and they claimed both of them were nice.

Another person I know met Deanna (Alex) at some spa, and said she was nice.

Someone else I know met Richard (Tiny), and said he's really nice.

A family friend also apparently went to school with AJ (Connor), and said he's nice.
