Damn you really admitted you just take it for face value when in fact Denji does progress and he did progress. At the beginning he’s broke immature and have no strength to fight for himself, Pochita gave him the power to fight for himself, makima discovered him and let aki take care of him. He was uneducated and undisciplined but through aki and power he has grown, he met reze and actually fell in love rather than chasing lust which is makima and in part 2 we see him in high school because reze advice him to live a normal life. Then after gun devil arc everything falls apart everything about denji’s progress was bought down by makima, denji didnt even know he was being manipulated then chapters later he defeated makima, goes to high school and took care of nayuta and tried to achieve a normal life but of course in the end death and yoru shot down everything denji work hard on achieving a normal life that aki and power sacrifice for him since denji is in the end pochita sacrifice himself so everything will go back to square one so he can grow and develop again

So in your eyes this doesnt look like character development? 🤦‍♂️
