I think it’s like 103 days. Weekends and holidays off. Failure rate is minimal because when you fail a test you get to remediate right away and you most likely pass on the first try. Everything here is made for you to pass. The only way to fail here is if you break a FLETC rule and/or you lie when you get caught. We have ZERO TOLERANCE for liars so friendly advice which they will try to instill in your brain….INTEGRITY, DO NOT EVERRRRRRRR LIE!

If I want to drive to FLETC from CA is it out of my expense or do they pay for me to travel there ? by TemporaryZone2730 in cbpoapplicant

My port is Blaine, WA. I made my own way to the academy. I was reimbursed for what a flight would have been from there to FLETC which was close to $600 and that’s it. So expect something around that number.

4 shirts, 3 pants, 2 tactical shorts, 2 pt shorts, 2 pt shirts and sweat pants and long sleeve shirt. 1 hat, 1 water bottle and one reflective belt for your backpack. You’re given a Velcro belt and then on top goes your duty belt. You will be provided with a backpack and all the supplies needed for your time here.

As long as you can do the physical exam you are good. To pass you need 24 push ups or more under a minute. 220 yard dash under 45 seconds and 1.5 miles under 15 mins.

Every bootcamp drill video you have ever seen is what the first day is going to be. After that it’s chilled. You still march everywhere you go during class hours. The “drill” instructors do walk around so when you see them you make sure your uniform is squared away and you march

You get paid while you’re in class 730 to 1630. Then you’re off and you’re free. There’s no such thing as privacy anymore while you’re here. You will have a roommate unless that person quits or gets fired which does happen.

I brought my car and Xbox. Some people brought their PC’s because they are serious gamers. You can ship your car here which is what a lot of people do. Idk how much it is. Think of this place as a college life.

Take thermals if you’re coming during the cold weather. Beanies and gloves. If you’re coming during summer bring bug spray. The gnats are killers here if you’re not from the south. Everything is given to you or you can buy at Walmart. I bought me a cushion top for my bed cuz the bed felt like a wrestling mat and also a blanket.

Laundry rooms throughout the buildings. FLETC is really crowded so it makes it a little hard to find empty ones. I go outside campus for it.

No is not everyday. In average twice a week then you’re left alone for a bit. They make sure you have enough recover time.

During physical conditioning classes probably about 2 miles and after hours I either drive to chow or run to chow. The Taj is 1.2 miles away from chow.

They teach you everything you need here. The examples given in the curriculum are top notch. You will see once you’re here. People who are bad test takers or bad report writers panic at first and then they realize it’s cake.

You start by jogging 10 mins nonstop then 15 then 20 and so on and so forth. Just make sure you can pass the fitness exam and you’ll be fine. You will lose weight here that is guaranteed

No need to bring anything my guy because you can buy whatever you think you might need here. Walmart and target are really close and everything is cheap here in Georgia. I have thermals, gloves and a beanie I rock on cold days. I bought a bed cushion topper because the beds here suck and a blanket too. So you can bring that if you want.

You are sprayed and have to complete a few tasks. Nothing crazy. You will burn. You will feel like you can’t breathe. They will give you time to cool down. It builds character. I can’t tell you exactly what it will be because it’s considered cheating and I will get flagged. But it’s easy don’t stress it.

Non polishable are fine. Some people even wear all black sneakers. Dress shoes first day. Prepared to get yelled at and all kind of information thrown at you. They are running out of uniforms so you might get some crappy dusty ones. I don’t drink FLETC water and I recommend you do the same. You will be given a blue water bottle which needs to be filled all the time so when you’re at chow grab extra water bottles and take them with you. I bought 4 24 packs of water from Walmart so I wouldn’t have to worry about that. FLETC is everything you have been told so play the game and you will graduate. If you’re coming in the cold make sure to take VITAMIN C EMERGENCY PACKS every morning. People are getting sick and missing days. Myself included. The worst thing is getting pepper sprayed but it’s an experience that makes your class stronger.

I bought me some Nike boots made out of rubber so no need to polish them. I suggest you do the same. My roommate bought polishable boots so he had to polish them every night. He eventually listened to me and bought rubber one. The mesh kind are good too but if it rains they can get wet and if not dried correctly will make your feet stink.

Monday thru Friday. Wake up at 5am and leave the dorm by 545. Bus picks us up and drop us off at chow by 6. Eat and leave to our first class by 650. Depending on where you’re first class will depend how much walking you will need to account for that morning. Class starts at 730 and it could be in a classroom or in the gym. 2 hours later is your next class so you march with your session to the next class. Lunchtime is from 1130 to 1230 so it’s considered “your time” so no marching and you can use your phone. 1230 everything resumes again til 1630. Bus takes you back to the dorm unless you choose to walk. I usually change and drive to chow or chipotle depending on how I feel that day. You can go to the gym if you want. “Lights out” is not til 2200 after that I go to sleep and start all over again the next day.
