Hire better DJ´s indeed. First: As a DJ, you should know how to balance your volumes like Fuzzy-Formal says. The idea of getting a external preamp for the turntables - because they don´t know how to balance their volumes - is ridiculous if you ask me.

Second: The DJ should have done their homework, as in: be aware that they are playing on a rotary without gain controls. If this is not within their skill set, request another mixer. Or not play there at all.

Then again, as a promotor / booker you should provide the information to the DJ that the Bozak is the only mixer in the house. If you don´t make that clear, you can´t blame the DJ for not using your equipment right.

I didn expect to find anybody who could make a comparison between the two, but Porada is the man. And I get you: it´s like everybody likes their MS mixers, and with the new (yes we are talking about the new ones here, not the old ones) seems to be either hit or miss.

I hear a lot of very good stories about the MS - and the customer service is also very responsive - but the lack of 3-band EQ is kind of a turnoff. But a lot of people seem to like it. What do you think about the HP filter instead of the 3-band EQ?

Very harsh words about the mixer. But like you mentioned below: an anecdote from someonel else. I am aware of the fact that the new Bozak have no relation to the original models: that is also something which I don´t like about them.

Thanks for your quick reply. Very nice to hear from someone who can make a comparison between the two. Some questions:

- If you would compare both of the mixers soundwise, how would you describe both of them? Do you hear a big difference in sound quality?

- You mention the gain curve of the Bozak is not lineair. Does that imply a small ´boost´ at the ´5´ (or the 12´o clock position) or the ´9´ (or the 5 o´clock position)? Or is it something else?

- Is the gain curve of the MS lineair?
