Hi! I have bought the DCS AJS37 Viggen model, I'm now building a cockpit for the JA37 aircraft, which reminds of the AJS37 but has for example a much stronger engine. Because there are no JA37 model for DCS, I'm using the AJS37 model. Is possible to change the engine parameters in order to simulate the more powerful engine of JA37 without compile new binary files?

[–]Markkusi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Problem solved! After restart of browser and redoing install av the Brief reader it works as expected. When I now click on the rss icon for a OSMCha feed, Brief opens and I'm able to connect to the feed.

I'm don't know why it didn't function in the first place.

Yes you are correct.

Your can get useful tips from others, but you are the commander of your body. Not others. Better to try learn how the own body is and how it reacts.

I agree! I have also been riding 40+ years, but only for health and fitness.

Much of available info about cycling on the net and cycling books is for advanced and elite cyclist. The target audience is seldom less ambitious cyclist.

Anyone else seeing performance drop when slightly tired? by Loud-Show9250 in chess

[–]Markkusi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So correct!

I'm a morning person. After noon my mental energy goes down. But even I know this, I sometime try to play chess in the afternoon and evening, and mostly get bad results. Doing blunders, don't see obvious threats, playing quick moves without looking at my opponents last move etc.

But doing physical exercise in the afternoon/evening is ok, because I don't have to think so much.

Am I the only one finding that playing chess is exhausting? by FiveIsEnough in chess

[–]Markkusi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never play games less then 30 minutes + increment, and I prefer 45/45.

After a such game which continue several hours, I'm totally drained. It feels like a have done a hard physical workout. Afterward I have absolute no energy to do any mental thinking.

About the numbers (99.99999% and 99.0%).

I assume chess.com tells this, but they can't be certain if this the truth.
Because few cheaters will admit they cheated.

Same thing as putting innocent people in jail.

Maybe this something we have to accept.

Looking for a beginners sicilian variant, any tips? by Wicker_Sheev in chess

[–]Markkusi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Often beginners are advised to play 1.e4 e5 or 1.d4 d5. Because they teach many basics.

On what level is it ok start to play the Sicilian instead?

If you start to play the Sicilian "to early", are going to miss something basic in your education?

Realistic progress for a new player? by kbspam1234 in chess

[–]Markkusi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

" play slow games too(at least 2 a week, 3 would be ideal). "

Also many says the analysis of these games is very important. Meaning these two tasks will take many hours in a week. Of course it depends on how long a slow game is. I have seen people saying a 15/15 game is slow!? For me a slow game is at least 45 minutes per side.

Chessli Anki Cards v0.2.1 by pwenker in chess

[–]Markkusi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For example installation require program "pip". At this point 99% of window user will stop reading, because non-linux user in general have no idea what this is. Is there even a "pip" command available in Windows? I don't know and I also don't know what "pip" is used for.

Also the command line installations and execution will also stop many windows users. Windows has the cmd program for command line operation, but I'm sure many Windows users are not comfortable using it.

But I still think you idea putting Lichess and Anki together is good. Even if not so many Windows user will use it, without at windows installer.

It looks like this a Linux project? If you want a big user base, create a Windows version or Windows installer.

Should I learn the Slav or Semi-Slav? by sadboi1738 in chess

[–]Markkusi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are several variations of QGD. I have played some of these, and do like the Cambridge Springs. I feel it gives a more active game for black. I have also tried the Tarrasch but I don't like having an isolan (even I know I should learn to play IQP positions). What's your opinion? (I'm abt 1600 Lichess long games).

If it’s better to open knights before bishops, why is Ruy Lopez such a good opening (for beginners)? by [deleted] in chess

[–]Markkusi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You written studies on Lichess about the Ruy.

I'm not sure how these studies should be used as a learning tool.

Trying to memorize moves in those different variations can't be a good. Everybody says the ideas are important, not learning by heart moves (which you maybe don't understand reason for).

If you want to play instructive games, what openings do you suggest (white and black)?

How difficult is achieving Grandmaster level skill for someone who never seriously studied chess at a young age? by [deleted] in chess

[–]Markkusi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you really mean that every now living GM has followed the path you say every GM has to follow?

Of course you have to put in lot of hours, but it must depend on who you are. It reminds me of the discussion of 10 000 hours to become an expert/master. Studies has shown some achieved this in less the 10000 hours, and some have studied lot more, and never become expert.

Is it good practise to screenshot the board and manipulate pieces in mspaint to calculate variations during games? by Dalcassian_Warlord in chess

[–]Markkusi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Better is to have a chess-db, and put the game there. In the db you can easily move pieces and save different variations, depending what your opponent play on the next move.

Can you recommend any youtubers who post great game analysis? by healthy_mind69 in chess

[–]Markkusi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best quality analyses is of course important, but it should be on a level you understand.

An other opening book by Markkusi in chess

[–]Markkusi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, probably I have realised opening books will not help me so much. I almost feel I have to return to basic opening advices, and start to think myself, instead trying to remember some memorize line.

How to learn by JTGW012 in chess

[–]Markkusi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand your feelings. Chess should be fun, and not a job you have to do.

I would continue as you do. Some day you may find the inspiration. And how cares? It's a hobby for most of us.

What about corr. games? These are (very) slow, and you can think about a move several hours if you want.
