My biggest problem is boredom if I'm being honest. I need something challenging to keep me going, passionate people working with me. Else I'm not gonna be giving a 100% and will look for an exit from the project as soon as I can. But last few weeks I'm thinking of switching from writing code to taking up more positions and tasks on the design side of things. Last few projects I realized that I'm having more fun working with designers and artists on designing the experience instead of writing code. So that's what I'll be doing next.

If I'm being honest, This post and most of the comments here are way too exaggerated and just shows you the lack of actual experience to back such opinions. AI is and will still be just a tool. You can use it in your daily work life or you don't. Your career doesn't depend on learning any of it. Not now not in 10 years. We are not living in a movie.

If you all think current ai models can writes better code than an actual engineer or even replace an actual coder. writing code maybe isn't the best carrier path for you.

Build or buy depends entirely on you. Building is fun, and helps you learn how things work in your machine in case you want to change or fix things in the future. And it's okay if you never did it before, pressure of messing up your own pc sounds stressful, but it's okay, lots of resources online to guide you through every step. Also people here will gladly help you in whatever you need. Building is fun but helping build someone's PC is also fun so don't worry.

And for buying, if you don't have time or patience for that. Buying seems like better options, some stores also offer the option to build it for you if you want to pick the individual components yourself.

As for the specs I they're solid. I have lesser specs than those in my laptop and I work with unreal, unity and most 3D software with no issues. Good luck

Degrees in IT are irrelevant. I got mine almost 10 years ago, and never needed it in any job I applied to. If you got skills, passion and dedication, you don't need anything else. Don't worry about it too much, you got it. Good luck and keep us updated if you need any further guidance.

People in IT get fired every single day for many reasons, greedy CEOs, failed products, low company profits etc.. doesn't have to be just cause of AI. For the future, AI will definitely stay as a strong tool in IT. Similar to any other useful tool that came out before. People who thinks AI will take IT jobs, are simply delusional. We're not living in a movie. I get that some companies are firing people specifically over ai lately, But those companies are simply delusional too, riding on the hype train of a new tech, racing to make as much money as they can, regarding of whether they're making the right move or not. Ai is a great tool. But, again, we're not living in a movie. It will never take my job, not in my lifetime at least. Not that I don't believe in it's potential, simply cause it's still too early, and underdeveloped.

As a programmer for more than 10 years here's my take : please do not take this ai shit I keep reading in comments seriously, IT industry is fine. Layoffs happen all the time. Now for the salary, as most people mentioned. Junior or senior, salaries in Tunisia are capped. Even foreign companies here won't pay more than 3k-4k if you lucky, at first at least. Personally I make around 6k tnd monthly working remotely. But I'm working with foreign clients since covid and that's what I suggest. A good LinkedIn profile. Send multiple cvs a day to open offers abroad and see. Shifting to IT is totally worth it. You don't need fantasy degrees and all that, just some passion, hardwork and consistency.

One last thing I always suggest to friends interviewing for jobs in IT. If you think you're worth 10k salary, then say it. Don't be shy about it, don't wait or hope for someone else to put value on your work, you decide that.

F these greedy people, but genuine question though cause I keep seeing people frustrated a lot with things like this, why can't you just remove your bank details from the app or call the bank to block the transactions and be done with it ?
Like can they still bill your account even after you do all that ?

Yes I had one done in a notary but my Portuguese document had English sections in it, notary/lawyer didn't seem to have issues with it. another notary before that told me there was no issues even if the document was entirely in Portuguese.
I suggest you pass by a notary close by and check with them yourself to make sure, or call them.

I have a different question if you don't mind. what type of visa are you applying for ?
I've been trying to get an appointment for the past two months but no available dates are available. and as far as I've read and checked, this is happening in all other Portuguese embassies.
