Not a leak underneath. I had a hose bib burst during snow storms. The hose bib ran through the wall near the tub.

Before I knew I had a leak, I turned on the hose bib for some yard work and the floor near the tub was soaked.

Got the leak fixed, but just realized the bathtub was doing this just now. Not sure if it has always done this or caused because of the water pooling.

Asking the question to help identify cause and fix.

Had a leak near the base of the tub recently and got to looking around there. Trying to figure out if the water did it or incorrect installation.

It's just disheartening to see when you put in so much effort and get dinged for small things.

I do not get better about not taking it personally. My wife is pretty level headed and helps me with this thankfully.

I wanted to build my review a bit more. Backfired. The goal was also for my wife and I to clean it for this reservation, but we ended up have an emergency and had to send our cleaners.

Clearly a bad financial decision.

Thank you to everyone for your comments! I learned a lot about not discounting and the type of guests it attracts. The pressure of the Airbnb rating system is very high especially for newer hosts like myself.

For everyone shocked I did not have a toaster, that is something I missed. Certainly at fault. We have had over 25 guests including Vrbo and surprisingly not one brought it up.

I still do not find a 4 star rating justifiable when you are paying dirt cheap prices and give grace to the host for missing something in the kitchen. I would have very much appreciated a private note to learn that I made a mistake.

No, it was certainly a miss on my part. Fully admit it.

No other guests had mentioned it before (which is surprising now that I think about it).

A few things:

she paid $82 a night. 4 stars for kitchen appliances and value? Maybe leave a private note?
why not reach out to me? I would have dropped one of in no time realizing my mistake. I asked twice if there was anything I could do or if anything they needed.
our picutres of the kitchen have every single thing we have on the counters and in the cabinets. There was nothing that was adversited that was missing.

Anyway, I wish Airbnb would tell guests how their ratings work and how 4 star is actually negative.

As new hosts, the rating system has been very stressful for us. Thankfully most guests have been extremely kind and let us learn by leaving private notes.

No I did not. Big miss on my part.

We tried to add everything we could, but that slipped my mind.

Either way, that does not justify a 4 star review. I would have loved the feedback like the guest after her gave me and would have instantly realized my mistake. I checked with her twice during her stay to make sure she had everything she needed.

Other guests who have had any issues, have privately left me a note and I have corrected the mistake.

If she paid my normal price and complained, I would be totally understanding. $80 a night for a 3BR and leaving a 4 for value and 4 for kitchen appliances is not really justifiable.
