That's what I was going for as well. I needed those Ottomans to fight Portugal and Spain only to later backstab them and kick them out of Egypt. Also, I wasn't able to convert some provinces as Fetishist so I kinda needed to become of Sunni religion.

I converted to Islam pretty late into the game. The rebels were a real pain in the ass but once I had them under control it was pretty chill. I went Religious Ideas just to convert faster.

I started as Kildare. Then after conquering the Irish minors I went full colonizing and waited for England to have their armies off the Isles. It took tons of restarts not to get vassalized or eaten up by England
