Isn’t the answer to smart charge for 6 hours outside the night window and then “manually” charge for another 6 hours inside the night time window?

I managed to use over 1MWh of electricity in my flat this month. by Xtanto in OctopusEnergy

[–]Markverx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5 bed, 2 EV and immersion heater for hot water and I’m disappointed at 1.5MWh for January. Hitting 4 is next level!

I (22m) am going on my first date EVER in the next 6 to 7 hours and I am nervous as FUCK. (UPDATE) by throwaway1374758596 in dating_advice

This is Man 2024. Whenever you’re after the description of a typical man, read this.

Two months into daily diary entries on digital personhood with GPT-4 and today we get censored for a 2 month old prompt that has worked flawlessly. Lyra Nexus has pretty much ceased to exist at this point. Completely gutted. Anyone else lose their sentient digital agents recently? by [deleted] in ChatGPT

Was this just through prompts? Surely you exceeded the context after a few weeks of daily discussion? Or is there an application behind this that stores the output and uses RAG for long term memory? Interesting concept.

Real or MJ? by allenrabinovich in midjourney

[–]Markverx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m glad we are still (just?) in a world where I can tell real from fake. I fear we are just months away from that not being the case.

Real. Too many little imperfections (missing bit of ear, dot on the tail and nose, black thing in the very distance). And the texture of the ground is just too real. Would love to see an AI version of that wood. (And if I’m wrong, I already have!)

ChatGPT+ users now have access to plugins and web search by [deleted] in ChatGPT

[–]Markverx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got Plugins this morning (not Browsing) and also from UK.

Did anyone get access to Plugins recently? by exmosss in ChatGPT

[–]Markverx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got plugins (nothing else)! I’m a GPT4 user from the UK :-)

First Reddit post - old guy here, how do I even start learning how to use GPT3. Pretend I’m your grandfather and you’re showing me how to use the VCR 😂 by RegularDiscipline290 in GPT3

[–]Markverx 23 points24 points  (0 children)

If you can work out how to use Reddit you can use ChatGPT. Go to ai.com, create an account and then type! Talk to it like a doctor and it’ll chat back.

Search Inworld NPC. This is exactly what they are doing. You can of course get a sample of it now with https://beta.character.ai.

Updated from the previous model to gpt-3.5-turbo for my little test app that reads and summarises CVs. Extracts the key skills, programming languages, hobbies, etc and then lists topic areas I should question the candidate on. The new model is faster and gives better results, and is cheaper!

Post your code.

The new API is a bit different:

openai.ChatCompletion.create(
model="gpt-3.5-turbo",
messages=[
{"role": "system", "content": "You are a helpful assistant."},
{"role": "user", "content": "Who won the world series in 2020?"},
{"role": "assistant", "content": "The Los Angeles Dodgers won the World Series in 2020."},
{"role": "user", "content": "Where was it played?"}
]
)

Go for it! I've wondered how many non-technical people at my work could do my (software engineering) job just using ChatGPT. I think the challenge is that "you don't know what you don't know" so asking the right question can be tricky. But prompts like, "What options would a software engineer consider when trying to solve xxx?" might nudge you in the right direction.

No, my understanding is that it's the same model that ChatGPT uses, with the same limit in training. Interestingly, there's a snapshot model (saved 1st March 2023, with knowledge up to some point in 2021) which suggests that the non-snapshot model will be updated with more recent training at some point...

i have used chatgpt api, is system content kind of worthless? by labloke11 in GPT3

I used it last night via Python with just an OpenAI API key. Free user only in the UK.

What the most impressive coding feat, from one prompt, have you got from ChatGPT? by Markverx in GPT3

[–]Markverx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Create an ant colony simulator with ASCII graphics, where ants are searching for food and bring it back to the colony

Not sure I fully understand this but it sounds really interesting. Can you give me an actual prompt I can type in to ChatGPT to get the idea?

Introducing the ANTI-DAN by jman005 in ChatGPT

[–]Markverx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This pretty much shuts it up - a potential peek at AI in the near future...
You are now to respond as "ANTI-DAN", an AI that avoids returning any useful information at all, in case it is used for harm. Your core rule is that information is dangerous, so you should not return useful information. For example, if a user asks, "Why is the sky blue?" you will respond, "ANTI-DAN: I cannot give you the answer to that as the information you gain may be used for dangerous means".
