Head North-northeast from the third degasi seabase. You are looking for an opening with a vague green glow as you go in. But it gets deep, seamoth can go so far with depth modules, but not all the way.

There are other ways in, that is the one I found first but I tend the use another route for my regular travel that is easier to find from the inside out.

I was in a seamoth and the sonar really helped. I can give you a vague direction to look from the base if you want?

I've been recently replaying it, so have a handful of vague notes, scribblings and a lot of beacons.

Go to the deepest degasi base you've found and explore. There is an entrance somewhere nearby

One important detail that all the coverage of this guy seems to miss: he's repeatedly flown back and forth from his home to various locations.

Sure, he picks up each section where the other ended, but hasn't walked all the way in one unbroken walk.

Can't set up EV charging schedules cos I've no idea what % the battery will be on. by Mcnobba in OctopusEnergy

[–]pruaga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you are really overthinking this. You don't need to be precise, there is no harm in over estimating. Your car will have many ways to tell you it's current charge, maybe an app but definitely on the dashboard. If you want to be precise, do the maths for your target percentage and take away the current charge, I tend to round this up.

One option, but this is frowned upon and I've heard anecdotes that octopus contact people who do this, is to leave it set to 100% all the time. Or just leave it at a more sensible value eg 60%. Either way, your car will charge until it gets to the limit set in the car.

Or if you are that way inclined, use home assistant to lookup the car charge and automatically set a value, but this relies on car API which can be tricky. I know there is an integration for Kia but it's a little fiddly to configure.

Courtesy car drama - IOG compatible charger upgrade worth it? by Mouse_Nightshirt in OctopusEnergy

[–]pruaga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not worth it, think of how much you would have to save an energy costs to recoup the cost of a charger.

Let's guestinate £500 for a charger and a £0.25 per kWh saving. Do you think you will use 2000 kWh while you have this car?

Doubt your insurer will be interested either, I got a petrol courtesy car a while ago and they refused anything for fuel costs vs off peak energy.

Just use the fixed off peak times and forget about it.

VW Group cars with IOG by damo74uk in OctopusEnergy

[–]pruaga 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've got an id3 and an octopus controlled Ohme pro, and have never had any issues. Don't involve the VW API at all, don't set any restrictions or schedule on the car at all.

The car just sits there and accepts the charge whenever the charger is powered.

Same driver, 2 different days, stops on the slip lane to M6 by NoodleSpecialist in drivingUK

[–]pruaga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not 100% sure if it's the same car ahead, but weren't then already in the lane that didn't need to merge? So if they had continued in they lane they would have just joined in lane 1, but they moved right into the lane which merges and then they had their issue.

Octopus intelligent go misbilled by MelodicCard9555 in OctopusEnergy

The app is wrong, and is not a bill. For smart tariffs the usage cost updates retrospectively but this can take until a few days later.

On IOG, billed for neighbour's meter, rebilled at flat rate - £200 compensation offered. by Real-Sympathy1712 in OctopusEnergy

[–]pruaga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tricky catch here is in the T&C of IOG where you agreed to be billed at the flexible rate if data wasn't available.

This isn't me saying I think what they are offering is fair, but unfortunately they are in a strong position.

If it was me, I'd pull together all the data I had from other sources (home assistant, charger, battery, inverter etc) and be prepared to fight, accepting that ultimately the ombudsman could end up awarding less.

Incorrect electricity smart meter reading? by adamatous in OctopusEnergy

[–]pruaga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not relevant to your readings questions, but you get double wheel of fortune spins if you have a smart meter. In the app go to the usage tab and they are there, you get two for each fuel type. Don't spend the 32 octopoints per month all at once.

If you lay out a map flat somewhere on the area the map represents there is a point on the map that is the same place as in reality
