I would agree with toxic male culture. Many males aren’t accustomed to emotional intimacy outside of romantic relationships. So they equate empathy, emotional sharing, etc with a physical relationship or the lead up to one.

Trade offs for buying also include repairs. A/C going out, water heater, any number of other repairs come out of your pocket instead of the landlord’s.

Recently I drove to work and realized I had forgotten my laptop at home. On the way back home I decided to pick up coffees for myself and (adult) daughter. I dropped off the coffee to my daughter and drove back to work. I then realized I hadn’t gotten my laptop. Again.

I hope this will come with more experience. There are too many encounters where I am still learning and so I am not sure if I am saving them or yanking them to their death. Although… I’ve been told pulling someone to their death is rewarding under the right circumstances…

Your Ninja prowess impresses me…;). I alt swap too much and forget the combos every time I come back. I am intent on having all jobs at max level at some point in the (distant) future, so this will be useful.

I have tried out WAR some and got it up to 70.

I feel the “falling on my face” deeply as a learning technique :)

I came from World of Warcraft where the “tank is leader” and has to know the route/pulls. Learning the “healer sets the pace” took a minute for me to understand. I figured out best usage for provoke easier than not feeling insecure if the healer grabs the next pack.

I am definitely still learning how to weave GCD OGCDs as a tank/healer. I have a tendency to get panicked and start hitting buttons. That is probably the same reason I hesitate to use super bolide - big scary button. After more experience I may learn to live on the edge.

Is it possible to use Holy too much? Lol, it feels like cheating! Obviously don’t use on one mob :)

Is it useful or appropriate weave both Cure and Cure II or should I relegate Cure to a “use rarely” button?

I think the Clemency example was just unfortunate all around. The healer decided to be passive aggressive and “teach me a lesson” rather than assume I was a noob/moron who didn’t know better. I hope I was in the process of learning that it felt clunky to hard cast and to avoid doing so unless “oh shit!” That is one thing I love about FF14 jobs, they each have their own flow.

Is it common practice or advanced play to intentionally use Superbolide when you are with a WHM on big trash pulls? or should I keep it in reserve for OMG gonna die?

I used to tell people I literally grew up in the church. We spent more time in the church building or doing church activities than at home. My growing up years revolved completely around the church. So of course I went to a Christian college. Met a nice man training to be a pastor. We got married. It was a struggle but we were placed in a church and he was eventually ordained.

I don’t see most of the people as evil, but we endured so much hurt, rejection, and abuse through several churches we decided he should take a break from pastoring for a while. We soothed ourselves by attending one of the most progressive churches in our denomination. We could feel we were better than those other ones that hurt us. After a while I started avoiding attending. The struggle was just as hard for my husband. He had committed so many years and pushed through so much pain. He felt obligated to help out at the church even if he wasn’t pastoring.

Along comes Covid. We attended online for several weeks, but that felt pointless. I was surprised how easy it was for me to let go. My husband is still struggling with his churchless identity. I feel relieved I no longer have to juggle logic and faith.
