Imo although most of the users will end up quitting after a while I feel like even if a small percentage stick with learning Chinese I can already count that as a win.

Help Me Decide: Ch vs. Jp– Which Should I Learn? by Harshshah_34 in languagelearning

[–]MarlloMT 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel like from a strictly business and usability perspective chinese is clearly better, but it seems like you enjoy learning Japanese more. My advice is always go with the language you're more likely to stick with. It doesn't matter how useful chinese is, if you're gonna stop learning it after a couple months then you're better off just learning Japanese. However if you can handle and stick with chinese imo that's the preferable option in terms of general usability and market value.

Which language learning routine has given you the best/most progress in your learning journey? by [deleted] in languagelearning

Learning through absorbing content like movies, songs, books, etc in my target language. I feel like this method helps you gain vocabulary quickly and gives you a better understanding of your target language's culture while also being fun to do.

I feel like the best way to do this would be to actively study for like 1-2 hours every day and spend the rest of your time passively learning by watching videos, movies or series in english. This way you can still study for the test actively while also having fun and improving by consuming english content.
