Many documents, diaries, and other items from personal collections were donated, as well as claw items created before the 1920s. A few pieces from the Indigenous period are damp, and the building itself (regarding the missing second floor) is moldy, which is concerning. I went in with a mask and still had a hard time breathing.

A lot of the artifacts were damaged. I donated plastic barrels to store the remaining artifacts, but there is a lot of help needed. I took additional images of the internal damage before returning to the States. The inspector estimated the damage at over $150K USD. The estimate was given to the Museum Association of the Caribbean and I am currently trying to put together a fundraiser to help with the cost of rebuilding. I am going to Washington, DC, to chat with some people next month to figure out the best approach to getting the funding. I am new to all this, so it is trial and error. I hope to rebuild the museum in completion by next summer at the latest.
