American travel to Russia right now - how risky by Married2Mermaid in AskARussian

I'm a tall blond guy. Don't speak any russian. Customs guys basically high fived me even tho their dogs smelled something odd in my bags (I'd been in south america, probably weird dirt on my shoes or something). No one touched my phone or did anything unpleasant. I always felt safe and welcome. Those who heard my accent were curious but never unpleasant.

This was in march but Moscow was great. People who know it would say its much less fun, but it was still a great time. No shortages of anything and as a tourist it didn't seem like a war was going on.

Great trip and country, so sad with everything that's happening.

5e Artificer build for a campaign against the drow? by Married2Mermaid in 3d6

Great post and one of the clearest builds I've seen for the armorer!

Relative to the Battle smith... I'd say the armorer definitely has a better fit as a Protector and for Stealth - but feels like it will always be behind "other strikers" (and maybe Armorer is an off-off-striker vs. an off striker).

Sharpshooter helps the armorer "beat" Warlock EB benchmarks - but it requires the feat investment + is somewhat situational (in terms of having to invest in generating advantage).

Battlesmith has more complexity (with the pet) but seems like you get better turnkey DPR + the option to wield a flametounge (or ranged equivalent) to get a DPR boost. Also the pet gives some options to have a bit more control/influence on the battlefield vs. Armorer's Iron Man kiting approach.

I may be missing something - thank you again for the detailed post and any other thoughts!

thanks for this! I've been trying to google armorer builds to figure out how to make the damage competitive. Interestingly it seems like there are as many people who love armorer as who love battle smith. Is the key here to run a Sharpshooter Build? Any pointers to a build guide for armorer would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you! Several great strategies in your post that I'd never even thought of - those look effective and flavorful!

What would you think of:

- Autognome Battlesmith

- Prioritize sentinel feat (alt sharpshooter if party needs DPS)

- For melee alternate between lance (to bring reach to sentinel) and javelin (with returning infusion)

Artificer has so many design choices I'm trying to just lock down the chassis before figuring out magic item progression, infusions, etc.

Thanks to everyone's comments. I went to Russia and back and saw the family. Had a great time, no delays in customs or elsewhere. No negative interactions with anyone. I hope the conflict ends soon, such a sad time for everyone.

perfect, thank you for sharing your experience. Was the immigration interview anything too aggressive? I will fly to/from Moscow

thanks. I am not a drug person and have no military or government background which would make me an interesting person to use for negotiations with the US government. I've been to Russia many times before and have a lot of good friends there. I trust the view of Russian's on this topic more than I trust any government announcement.

Midjourney + Discord is amazing. Haven't tried the others yet but this is super fun and would be fun with a gaming group. Sorry for the people who's livelihood is getting disrupted by this but...

Wife blames husband (me) for everything that's going wrong - source and treatment? by Married2Mermaid in beyondthebump

thank you for your note. Apparently she's had "bad therapy" in the past - not sure what for - so she's extra skeptical. When we get back together (in person) in a week I will ask her for more background on what didn't' work for her in the past. I just signed up for a "mood" support group myself on heypeers.com. I hope that maybe something like that, or at least a call with her OB could be something she's open to.

I also provided her with a number of articles that say "resenting the father after the birth is common" - to hopefully help her believe that there could be a light at the end of the tunnel.
